This is Radio Tabs

Watching GW Bush on TV today talk about the assassination of Bhutto left me with the impression of a man at the end of his rope. That he has had enough, that he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. That he is under tremendous pressure and everything just seems to be falling apart no matter what he does.

There is a real problem in America. There is a disconnect with reality. The news media reports disastrous things happening in the world, then it cuts to a commercial for SUV's, telling you about how luxurious they are. American lives are just not touched by the terrible things happening in the world around them. They have fallen asleep and are oblivious to that reality, that is the disconnect with reality.

Watching FOX I got the impression that they are highlighting the chaos and playing on the fear of a world gone mad. Some of th commentators have suggested that we put more pressure on Musharraf to push of Democracy. How unreal is that? Musharraf has a tiger by the tail and is fighting to keep Pakistan from disintegrating.

Watching CNN, they play up the martyrdom of Bhutto as a great democracy loving freedom fighting individual. Their approach is abit calmer. They also tend to blame Musharraf as being a dictator in league with radical islamists, without realizing the enormous pressures on him to maintain some sort of stability in his country.

Everyman has limitations. The Presidency killed FDR, it just took 13 years, a world war and depression to do it.

GW just has the look of a man at the breaking point. Like all the wind is out of his sails. Maybe it was just the shock of having someone he had pinned hope upon being killed. We shall see.

Part of your problem is watching CNN. Over here in Europe its a greatly different prospect. I turn on BBC and hear one thing, Sky and its close but the liberal idiots at CNN are trying to flavour the news to fit their perception of reality. Stop watching CNN or mix it with data from other outlets that are not biased like CNN is!

Regarding President Bush, anyone might look badly had they received some difficult intel when this happened. Musharraf and his minions very well might be the tiger that is tearing everything apart over there. A few weeks/months will tell a lot...

I'll bet the lights are burning late into the night in New Delhi, Beijing as well as Washington.

Regarding the 2 atempts on Musharraf's life, they found that it was a group of junior grade army officers that were involved.

Oh so U are saying that ole GW has put his faith in Musharraf and Bhutto to help rectify a situation that isn't salvageable. Or the old saying if you want something done right you have to do it yourself, cause ya can't count on others.

When its too late and they come here and blow up buildings by crashing airplanes into them. Thats when we finally get the message, at least until the next commercial diverts our attention back to the rich Corthian Leather that the latest model SUV has. My point is that Americans view the happenings in the world as a soap opera that is happening to somebody else, some place over the horizon. However in todays Global Economy and era of ever increasing WMDs the risk of something bad happening to America has been raised exponently.

This hasn't been widely reported, but faux carbon fiber cabin trim is available on the Hummer H2 this year.

Tabs...there is no "disconnect" with reallity. There is a "different" reality when comparing life in America to life in Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Russia, etc. Just because we're not immersed in the insanity doesn't mean we have no stake in the game. Who is more invested in the ME than we are? No, there's no disconnect at all, and given the choice, I prefer to live the American reality. Thank you very much.

Now...where is my latte???

Maybe he just had his 20th unreported stroke and mini heart attack.

A good rewiring should fix all that.

Our robot president, we shall follow him to the end.

CNN and the other news networks constantly broadcast reports talking about how we had no right to ever go into Iraq no matter the situation and we need to pull out now.
Then yesterday they were broadcasting reports asking why the US didn't do more to protect Bhutto.

Remember: if it bleeds it leads. The news - no matter the channel - is all about ratings, not about informing.
