Anyone use Quicken for personal finance? Any other better software products?
Im considering switching from Excel spreadsheets to a more automated program like Quicken for expense tracking, bill paying, investment tracking. Any user comments or reviews/recommendations? Thanks

I can't answer from personal experience but www.slickdeals.net has the following:
Quicken has 50% off their personal finance products using code 4855359860. Thanks sgrmag74 and wasurv http://quicken.intuit.com/?lid=site_banner * Quicken Deluxe 2008 $30 * Quicken Premier 2008 $45 * Quicken Home & Business 2008 $50 Note, the code is entered in your shopping card in the "Special Offer Code" field. If you do not see the field in your cart, you may need to clear your cookies and try one more time.

I'd be lost without Quicken. I've been using it for many years. With Quicken I know where my money goes and paying bills is easy. I pay a fee for paying bills directly through Quicken, but figure I save enough in postage to mostly cover the $9.95/month.

I have used Quicken for years. I upgrade every 2-3 years only because obslesence is a terrible thing.
I used to use a pencil, columar pad and a calculator and then a spreadsheet program. It does the same thing but faster and easier. I think it is a great product.

It is excellent for straight banking (balancing checkbooks etc). If you have a complex portfolio with many investments, it is brilliant. Get the premier edition if you are going to do a lot of on-line management of your accounts. It will save you a boatload of work by eliminating the need for manual transaction entry.

Quicken is very good. Limited in some respects (such as for tracking cash purchases) but very good in general. I just got myself hooked up with 2008 for this year and am tracking all my purchases with it.
I haven't tried linking it up to electronic trading accounts so at the moment my portfolio income is completely separate from my household income. Which maybe isn't a bad thing.
