I think they just should have armed the participants and let them take care of themselves. Then if UBL showed his skanky face he wouldn't be anyone's problem any more.

Which cave have you been living in? The Paris-Dakar rally/race has been one of the biggest on the earth for YEARS. Porsche won it many times and you still have not heard about it?

But it reminds me of talking with a few co-workers on a break once and the subject of the Kennedy assassination comes up. Everyone is telling where they were and this younger guy about 28 or so chimes in with, "What? Ted Kennedy was shot?"

We all stared at him with our mouths open for an instant, then all busted out laughing. Nice guy, but we never let him live it down.

I just did some googling on the rally - how the hell I missed this I have no idea. Sounds like a completely cool event.

I guess this is just one of those things that "everyone knows about" that I didn't for some reason. Oh well. Live and learn.

Yea, it sucks if they were going to run it and it got canceled due to some A.Q. threat. I say run it anyway. Cowards.
