Sonic- forget recruiting for a minute... which conference sends more to the NFL? That's the real test.
SEC surely does, but Id have to check the numbers to be sure. Last I checked 2 years ago, Michigan was 4th in number of players in the NFL at that time. That is really all I care about.
Carr was great at recruiting, but since the onset of his physical deterioration has failed to win the big games.

PS: Please re-read my statement above where I said that from top to bottom, the SEC is the strongest conference. Dont "Mule" things up by ignoring that we are in agreement.

I don't think your weasels have ever played the Tigers, so your claim doesn't confront me. At most it means Mich is the best team in a weak conference (remember, you guys do play against the Cupcake Conference out there in the Flower Bowl, so competition is hard to come by.). As for players in the NFL, click here: http://www.databasefootball.com/players/playerbycollege.htm

Your weasels do well, but not as good as several SEC teams. I cant wait to hear whether that makes them liars or "ghey."

Uh.....Real Nice Mule...the link you gave above contains Malware Virus!!
The following virus loads on your system when you click on that page!!!

"Win32:Nimda [Drp]"

I should have expected that coming from an SEC guy.
ha ha...

Be sure to run your virus scanner because if you used that link then your system is infected.

Updated: 2 out of the top 22 players on the NFL All Pro Team are former Wolverines. Tom Brady, Steve Hutchinson.

That's funny^ I'm from Michigan so fully understand the UM/OSU rivalry

However the epitome of stupidness was the interview with Troy Smith and Jamarcus Russell. JR is so dumb, I almost pity him. Troy was busting his balls and he was to stupid to even realize it.

On another note, notice the difference between a 1st Rd NFL Qb draft pick compared to a 4th rounder? JR looks lke he eats sandwiches the size of Troy Smith.

I don't know what looks more retarded..The rainbow "hoodie" or the meadallion necklace stating "BAMA BOY" JR is wearing.

Maybe SEC stands for Special Education Children..lol/jk

Sorry Sonic, if forget we have some technologically challenged folks here on the board. I use Avast Anti-Virus and have no need to concern myself with such trivialities, didn't even know there was an issue. That tab sat open for a whole day. No ill effects. By the way, no dispute on the data?

Mule: Posting data to refute or prove a point...usually does not matter to SEC fans as you are so Myopic that you refuse to consider the value of actual statistics....

but since you asked...Im going to do it anyway. The following is from an article in the Detroit Free Press, by Michael Rosenberg... the link is at the bottom.

I would hope that you can READ and will bother to READ and UNDERSTAND.

"NO ONE IS SAYING THE SEC IS NOT THE STRONGEST CONFERENCE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM BUT THE ALLEGED "DOMINANCE" IS SIMPLY YOUR SPIN

FACTS:

"Since 2000, NFL teams have drafted 59 Ohio State Buckeyes. Twenty-eight of those 59 were first-day picks -- guys drafted in the first three rounds.

No SEC team can match that. Not one.

The top talent producer in the SEC (by draft picks) is Tennessee, which has had 50 players chosen and 27 on the first day.

Since 2000, the 11 Big Ten teams have produced an average of 26.8 draft picks per school. The 12 SEC teams have produced 27.3 picks per school. That is half a player per school over an eight-year period. So it's basically a wash.

Over those eight years, the average SEC team has produced 12.6 first-day draft picks. The average Big Ten team has produced 10.6. In other words, the typical SEC team has produced one extra first-day pick every four years compared with a typical Big Ten counterpart.

Does that sound like a huge talent gap?

Did you know that Michigan State, a second-tier Big Ten team since 2000, has produced as many NFL draft picks (28) as SEC power Auburn? Hey, it surprised the heck out of me. But it's true. (All draft stats are courtesy of the incredibly comprehensive drafthistory.com.)

Propagators of the SEC Myth point out that Ohio State is 0-9 against the SEC but fail to mention that Michigan's Lloyd Carr was 5-2 in bowls against SEC teams. (This lends a rock-paper-scissors quality to the discussion: The SEC beats Jim Tressel, Tressel beats Carr, and Carr beats the SEC.)

SEC Mythologists don't mention that the top three teams in the Big Ten all played road games this bowl season: Ohio State faced Louisiana State in Louisiana, Illinois faced Southern California in southern California, and Michigan faced Florida in Florida.

The logic behind the SEC Myth is self-perpetuating. When Kentucky beats LSU, it is held up as proof of SEC depth. When Northwestern beats Michigan, people say the Big Ten is weak."

One other thing Mule, as a courtesy I want to let you know exactly what happened with that virus. I clicked on the link that you provided and then paged down to click on the Michigan football link.... but I clicked on the Minnesota link by mistake (since the teams were all bunched together)...and the AVAST Sirens went of "CAUTION CAUTION VIRUS DETECTED"....

This was the real-time Avast scanner...I aborted connection and last night I did a FULL system scan with AVAST and it found the virus again (Trj. Horse) in the registry...so even though Avast caught the virus on the way in...the virus still got in and it had to be found again on the back end...

so yeah, your link was infected...

As of this 2007-2008 season

1. Miami
2. OSU
3. FSU
4. Georiga
5. Michigan
6. Tennessee
7. LSU
8. Texas
9. Florida
10. Auburn/ Notre Dame

5 out of 11. No dominance there, right?
Only 3 states outside the South. Ya'll must not play much football up there huh?

Hi Mule good to see ya

Rosenberg's article spells it out very clearly. The most surprising tidbit was that the MSU Spartans had more first day NFL picks than Auburn did!

But believe what you want, you will anyway.... SEC is from top to bottom the toughest conference by a small margin... but really if you put Vanderbilt vs. Indiana...it would be a pretty even game dont you think? and that would be bottom vs. bottom (or whoever the SEC bottom team is right now)...

so there is a small edge to SEC but it would be great to see TBow try to run his offense in November in the Big House.... no heisman for Tbow if it were like that

decent link...however a bit inaccurate.
For example, they count Matt Cassel, backup at USC as one of their QBs in the league (3rd string at NE behind Brady)...but they are not giving Michigan credit for Matt Guiterrez (2nd string behind Brady in NE) who was the backup QB at Michigan for 4 years, got his degree there but left to play at Northern Idaho for 1 year as he had a year of eligibility left. So add one to Michigans list and 4 QBs in the NFL.

Auburn and LSU battle it out for the west. I think one of those two teams have won the last 7 west titles and have gone on to win 4 or 5 of the SEC titles. Didn't check but I think it's something like that. Auburn got screwed out of the BCS Title game when they went 12-0 and beat VT in the Sugar Bowl in 2004 (I think that's the year) I went to the game but am not sure of the year.

So I guess Auburn is a force but not in theory a Super-power of the SEC.

SAY IT ISN'T SO!!!!!!!!!!

You mean the best thing in College Football since the forward pass isn't in the top 10 of NFL producing schools?

Get Lee Corso on the horn fast to fix this fact by starting a rumor and media campaign to prove otherwise!
