My campaign platform for President…

My campaign platform for President…

If I was running, I would keep it very simple and direct. I would not compare the Democrats to the Republicans. The Conservatives to the Liberals or the rich to the poor. I would say this, if elected here are the things I will look to achieve while in term and when I leave office:
Domestic Policy:
1) Reduce Crude Dependency 50% through Alternative Energy and Conservation – no BTU left behind!
2) Fast Track Immigration Reform - Get Low Wage Workers Working Legally.
3) Provide the Opportunity to Every American to Establish a Minimum Level of comfort in terms of Food, Shelter, Transportation and Medical Care.

Foreign Policy – I would look to establish
1) World Peace – no fighting anywhere
2) No Hunger Anyplace
3) Improve the World Pollution Problem

If I did not achieve these goals while in office I would consider my term a failure. These are the things I will work on. I will not settle for anything less than getting these goals accomplished. I will call upon the brightest and the best – not party politics. If you do not show consistent signs of progress to these goals you will be fired and possibly publicly humiliated. A replacement will always be waiting in the wings.

There are those who will say it is impossible and that all that can’t be done. I say that you can either get on the bus or walk your own way home. We have a goal and we will obtain that goal because there is never been a time in history that has more talented people on the face of this Earth that can actually get almost anything done if we focus.

There. Nuff said.

What we really need is affordable carbon fiber body panels for our cars. Would you pledge to work on that?

You would make a great politician - promise the world and deliver close to nothing.

Hell, I'd vote for you.

The one star rating tells me that my platform does not meet muster on the edumacated bored - that must mean it is a good idea but as we all know, good ideas are a dime/dozen. It takes a candidate to say all the things that the voters want to hear to get in.

So much for substance and passion...

My vote can be purchased for a set of Sanders 21 and 29 mm hollow torsion bars. And for a through-the-body adjustable from sway bar, I will also donate some time to your campaign.

You're gonna need to build a lot of nukes. That's OK, just say it.

Opportunity? Citizenship and Constitutional protections already provide that.

1) World Peace – no fighting anywhere
At least no US soldiers fighting. It's about time.
2) No Hunger Anyplace
World hunger is awful, but is not the proper burden of US taxpayers.
3) Improve the World Pollution Problem

Nice happy platform Mike!

Run on a platform of doing as little as possible to further screw things up, and I will be your Arizona campaign manager.

I disagree strongly with this. I think it's the burden of every "have" country to help the "have-not" countries when it comes to issues like hunger and disease. This isn't a question of a left- or right-wing attitude towards hand outs to the poor who, by a very logical argument, are where they are of their own accord and could get themselves out of that situation if they wanted. We're talking about a significant portion of the human race that had the misfortune of being born in a place that can't supply food, or where disease is rampant, and there's little or no government, education, health care, even infrastructure, to tackle the problem.

I do believe it's our duty to help them, for no other reason than the fact that we can.

No doubt. That's why the United States outpaces every other nation in the world in private charitable contributions.

I harbor no moral responsibilty for third world reproductive habits or political tyranny that result in poverty and famine.

Compulsory charitable contributions are theft, pure and simple.

As an outsider I think I have a different but relevant perspective on what the US public want to hear from a politician.

Vote Steve PH in as your glorious leader/evil over lord and I pledge...

1. To reduce the level of smug satisfaction that seems to come from Canada, eh...
2. Demand that awkward foreigners speak better English.
3. Not get caught f***ing interns in the White house.
4. Tell the UN to get bent.
5. Reduce taxes.
6. Increase the general amount of bare breasts and availability of alcohol.
7. More funny captions attached to pictures of cats.
8. Make Fridays more fun.

Ok who's with me?

Moses:

I would respectfully add to "poverty and famine" the concept of "war", or "civil unrest" which we, as a nation, seem obligated to get involved with. That involvement alters the two you mention; sometimes for the better, sometimes not. I think they are all so interwoven it is impossible to sort them out.

No, of course none of us harbours any responsibility (in that it's not our fault life is bad in other places), but how about compassion? Because a person is born into a ruthless corrupt dictatorship they deserve no help? Or because there's zero education regarding birth control, to help keep population growth down we should just shrug it off?
