I had mine taken out in I think, 93, but got a new one now, so I have to have it removed (was going to last week, but had to put it off until the 18th)

Just had mine out a week ago...not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

How sore are you Tom?

Had I been you but knowing what I do, I'd be really concerned about being medicated then monitored on what is essentially a glorified PDA sitting on top of cut-rate tool box.

Not sore at all man. I haven't even taken any pills yet. One thing that I can't stand is a constant drip since I have no feeling in my lips. I keep salivating. Pretty darn annoying

I think a bit of soreness will come once the numbness goes away.

My mouth was never really sore, but my jaw still hurts to open wide a week later.

Had mine pulled in 71 on a Navy ship in the Sea of Japan while I was very seasick.

i'm going on the 25th for right lower wisdom teeth and the molar next to it

already had left side done for the same deal... abroad, flew back right after that, with no painkillers
i can tell you , scotch won't do the trick, it just won't...

molars next to wisdom teeth never came out due to a double jaw fracture at age ten...
word to the wise, don't get kicked in the face by a horse...

My son just had his out on Monday. He went for a checkup today, and got his stitches out.
He ate mostly soup, and yogurt the first few days. He had spaghetti last night, and a sub today. He says he's ready for a pizza now. Leaves to go back to school on Sunday.
The best advice that he was given ..... get a bag of frozen corn. Hold it against your jaw for 15 minutes, then do the other side. It helps to keep the swelling down. Throw it back in the freezer for later. It won't melt, and run all over you like ice will. It conforms to your mouth well, and you can cook it, and eat it when your mouth heals.
You'll be back to normal before you know it.

In 1982, my next door neighbor was a dentist. His wife let the engine in her Datsun 260 (or 280 ?) Z blow up because the engine light came on & she disregarded it. He was moaning about having to replace the engine - as he elected to do it himself. My only two upper wisdom teeth were angled forward against my molars and needed to be taken out. I made an agreement to help him install a low mileage, used engine in his wife's car if he would take my wisdom teeth out. Not a bad deal for bartering.

Thanks for the advice will. It's been 5 hours and I have already eaten some pizza! I wasn't stupid about it though. Cut it up in to teeny tiny peices and swallowed them whole. All I have eat was that and some smoothie king. I am starving.

And pavulon...I know it was a husky toolbox. Kinda funny. They doc is a bigtime car fan, drives a brand new Aston. All of the furniture in his rooms are tool boxes. I felt right at home.

You'll be glad you took care of this now as it gets more difficult as you get older!

Ha! I just all four yanked yesterday. The bottoms were severely impacted, one was turned 90 out of correct orientation. I am sore as a virgin without lube. Hello Vicodin!
