I'm bidding on this Z. How high would you go? Love the green, the tan interior not so much. Had one over 20 years ago and loved it.

Wow, that is a nice interior.

If it is really from Maine, I would be surprised if it is as rust free as they present it.

I always liked those old Z cars, sweet little 2 seat coupe, plenty fast and nice handling. All in all an excellent knock off of an XKE

Very nice. I wonder about the rarity of the wheel covers. I remember everyone who had a 240Z swapped out the covers for aluminum slotted wheels. That car must be very close to original.

Excellant restoration canidate! Most Z's got hacked by cheapskate kids (like me 20 yrs ago). This one looks great. I don't know current pricing, I guess it just depends on what you are willing to give for it......how bad do you want a Z car project?

I paid $50. for the one I drove to college... Had to kick the roof out where goats had been climbing on it to lay down and install a new head gasket.... loved that car....

I think it's going to go out of my price range.

I've got enough of a project with rebuilding my E. this would be something that I could R&R brakes and fluid and probably get away with as a solid driver.

so darn easy to drive fast. mine had webers and headers. bought it for $300 with bad rear wheel bearings. easy fix. almost daily race with a another kid in high school wtih a 340 Demon. The cars were incredibly evenly matched on the straights, my Z could literally inch past him up to 80, then he had more gear than I did. great days!

will never forget the "afterburner" smell of the too rich carbs every time I shifted.

This being a time capsule, and close, looks like both a smart investment and fun driver.

Glad I didn't try to go higher. Looking at ben-mainville's bids, I would have hit $4500 easily against this guy. $4K was a stretch but would have been worth it.

Didn't look at it long, but I'd say it's overpriced. The market on decent to poor shape Zs are all over the place. Nice ones start at 8K and up. As with older 911s, rust is priority number one.
If you don't mind looking outside your region, some good deals can be found on rust free examples out west. Arizona in particular.

Not exactly pelican like, but www.classiczcars.com is a great source of information.

You may have dodged a bullet.

Those things are prone to rust in the front wheel wells and since it's unibody that causes major headaches.

Looks like the car has some rust in that area and also looks like attempts (poor ones) to address it have been made.

That's definitely one you want to see in person.

these days rust isn't too much of a problem for me wtih my Miller 135, but I really don't need another project, so good that I stopped. Saw this like any of us would see a T that's been sitting in a barn for 27 years. The novelty alone is almost worth it.
