Why did he cry? I mean, he's not a Presidential candidate...

Sonic dB 01-13-2008 04:59 PM

For about 3 years in the 90s Farve was...+ Steve Young...I dont count Aikman because while his teams were winners, he only threw over 20TD passes in one season...with a HOF RB and HOF WR playing along side of him... good manager of the game though and good announcer now. Farve is back in the top 2 as of today

He was standing by his man Romo.

They should go to Mexico as a couple next time.

Maybe Romo is considering it???

I give TO props. How many players actually give a ***** enough about their teammates to show that much emotion? In today's world of bling bling players who jet off on vacation the minute after the whistle blows I am happy to see a player who actually cares what happens.

Count me as a new TO fan.

legion 01-13-2008 05:48 PM

Does he have a primary tomorrow? ;)

on2wheels52 01-13-2008 05:51 PM

No small factor in my decision to quit tv was the upside of not having to see/hear him. No regrets so far.
Jim

Buckterrier 01-13-2008 06:49 PM

I'll have to catch it tomorrow morning. Still not a fan of his. And Tom Brady is a big P**SY

Correction. Tom Brady GETS great P**sy....

k9handler 01-13-2008 07:19 PM

Who will all the Texas fans root for next year? I sure hope Kubiak is able to make Houston the better of the two teams like back in the early 90's when the Oilers were on top.

dd74 01-13-2008 07:27 PM

You guys are harsh.

mattdavis11 01-13-2008 07:28 PM

You must have had the special mustard. I don't remember the Oilers ever being on top. They were close though.

On top of the Cowboys that is, and it was true as the trucks/cars in Texas had oil rig stickers instead of stars. ;)

JCF 01-14-2008 02:48 AM

I was impressd with TO playing well in the Super Bowl.
But he makes a lousy team mate.

The Pats greatest strength is their unity.
NO player (or coach) plays to the media.
NONE go out of their way to attract attention off the field.
They don't even pander to their fans.
And that's the way we like it.
Work hard.
Do your job.
Focus.
That is the game plan every day with that bunch.
Don't like it ? - Tough ! - They don't do it to make you happy.

Nothing wrong with Romo running off to paradise - but very questionable leadership.
Might have been time better spent in the film room.
Brady , the day AFTER the 1st Super Bowl win was in the workout room.

Brady, not tough ? A pussy ?
Laughable!
He stands in the pocket calmly and takes whatever hit is coming. He's no dancer.
And smart enough to take what the defense gives him.
If the Jags had clogged the lanes to stop those "1 yard" passes Moss would have had a lot more fun to say the least.

I wouldn't necessarily call myself a fan of his, but I saw the clip this morning, and I was impressed that he cared enough to put his emotions "out there" for all to see. I didn't think it was an "act" at all, but a sincere "come to the defense of his teammate" display. I've never given TO a second thought before, but I respect what I saw this morning.

Very true.

I've never been a fan of the dink & dunk. Montana had a hall of fame career with it, didn't like it then. That's why God created running backs. And yes he is a P*SY, (does does get some fine though :D ).
Want to see a tough QB watch Big Ben. If Brady got sacked 47 times... well he wouldn't make it that long, so it's a moot point.

18-1

Mule 01-14-2008 05:07 AM

He kind of reminded me of the "leave Britney alone" guy.

sammyg2 01-14-2008 08:00 AM

There is no crying in football.

There is laughing, as in I was laughing at that clown and his ridiculous actions. he is a very strange man.
A couple of weeks ago he was blaming Romo for everything except global warming, now he is crying because of the love. BS.
IMO He was just trying to do damage control because of the beating he took when he blamed the last loss on Jessica and as usual for him, he went waaay over the top.
He must be bipolar or something.

OK, as long as we're pretending to be in grade school, here's my reply:
I'd be willing to bet a great deal of money that Tom Brady could kick your a$$ up and down the street and not break a sweat. If that makes him a pu**y, what does it make you? SmileWavy

Jim Garfield 01-14-2008 08:49 AM

TO crying? How can that be? I'm guessing those tears are because the big blowhard just sucked some popcorn down the wrong pipe. :D

What goes around, comes around .........

The real question is, why are you puffing up your chest about someone you don't even know?

TO could kick your ass up and down the street twice and not even have to take his earring out...who cares?

bivenator 01-14-2008 09:18 AM

TO cried, lip quivered, nose ran and I laughed it up. He was just working on the acting career that will follow football. It was kinda strange to watch.

Uh oh, did I step on your little piggies by not liking TO?

I didn't call anyone a pussy. Mr. Buckterrier did. I responded in kind as an example of how silly that sounded. Guess the sarcasm went over your cowboy hat :)
(that was supposed to be a joke).

Now back to TO. This spoiled low-class POS (IMO of course) has acted like a horse's patutty everywhere he's been. TO does all kinds of stupid antics in the end zone everywhere he goes. It isn't just about your cowboys, it's about TO where ever he goes. I actually rooted for the cowboys most of the time prior to them getting TO. If they kicked him to the curb i'd probably start rooting for the cowboys again in a year or two.
Remember the sharpie incident? or the camera, or the popcorn, etc. There are not spur of the moment things, he stages them for attention. Hey everybody, look at me look at me!

how about when he was bad-mouthing HIS team and HIS quarterback in San Francisco, or his deja vu repeat in Philly? IIRC, he didn't get enough glory so he talked smack about his team, his team mates, and specifically his quarterback. Bad enough that he ended up sitting part of the season out.
Then he comes to Dallas. He talks smack about his coach and his quarterback.
Every time he opens his mouth to the press he sticks his foot in it, and that's about twice a week for his entire life. he shows his true self and lack of character.
Even this year when things were going so well he had to talk smack about Randy Moss because moss was getting more catches and more attention that he was. Real grown up of him, don't you think? luckily bilicheck had a strong hold of the reins so moss kept his mouth shut about the whole thing.
A couple of weeks ago he talks crap about his quarterback's girlfriend costing them the game, and he was serious about it. Then when he looks bad, he acts all surprised and lies about it saying it was just a joke. Nope. it wasn't.

The only reason he was crying was because maybe Romo wouldn't like him and throw passes to him and he wouldn't get his glory so he wouldn't get more chances to make an ass out of himslef in the end zone. That's all that man cares about, himself. He'll throw anyone under the bus including his teammates to get what he wants and he has proven that many, many times.
Or, maybe he'll spit in their face like he did to DeAngelo Hall ($35,000 fine).
Sorry, no credibility, no sympathy.

I used to root for the niners when TO was there, but he made it hard to do that. when he left all I could say was good riddance.
Ever since then, everywhere he's gone he's acted like an ass. He hurts his team more than he helps it in most cases by being a huge distraction ref. 2006 season.
He would fit right in if he joined the world of professional wrestling.

IMO If he wasn't a world class athlete he's be locked up somewhere or dead.

Mr. Dink and Dunk throws for 50TDs and 4800+ yards...damn thats a lot of dink and dunk...

Against Jacksonville..dink and dunk = taking what the defense gives you = smart quarterbacking especially when every pass you throw is right dead on the receivers hands. Jacksonville basically played a 2 deep zone with the safetys rolled back to stop Randy Moss. They also used a lot of nickle and dime packages in an attempt to cover the receivers and just rush 4 guys at the line with very very few blitzes. Brady and the Pats recognized this and simply tailored their offensive output to exploit the weaknesses that Jacksonville was showing underneath. In the one case where J-vill did blitz him, Brady simply rolled out of it and hit Stallworth for that long gainer...

In other games, mr. dink and dunk has thrown the ball down field over and over and over again, tossing bombs all over the place....just watch the last game of the year vs. the Giants too see an example.

NE fans will take a P---y like that any day. It is called being a smart QB and exploiting the weaknesses that the Defense has... however a lot of fans dont recognize such things because they are possibly blinded by their own biases or maybe just watch only a few games to draw their conclusions from.

Sonic dB 01-14-2008 11:16 AM

TO did the right thing by 'finally' sticking up for his QB after all of these years, but he has shown himself to be very unstable mentally in the past.

If this is what you think then you missed the entire point of my post. I never understand how people can get so personally wrapped up in pro football players. At the game last night some late-20s idiots got into a fight with a Giants fan in the stands after the game. WTF?!?! It's a friggin football game!

Why you would choose to tell someone how Tom Brady could kick their a$$ is beyond me. It's even worse than the "my dad could beat up your dad" discussion in the sandbox. At least then the kid KNOWS his dad....

dd74 01-14-2008 11:30 AM

Sheesh! Whatever. Is TO or is he not a good receiver? That's what matters.

I hate to see what you guys will say about Randy Moss when he cries once NE loses to the Chargers. ;)

You're not paying attention. go back and re-read the original post.
Please, go re-read the post. Read it a couple of times, the sarcasm will set in. If not let us know and I'll explain it to you. Oh what the heck, I'll explain it to you now and save the the trouble:
it was supposed to sound that way, because it was sarcasm. he said something i thought was ridiculous and I responded in kind, just exactly like your "my dad can kick your dad's ass" example. it was intended to send THE EXACT SAME MESSAGE!

JCF 01-14-2008 11:42 AM

That would be childish.

Yes, TO is a great reciever. Probably in the top 10 best of all time. But that is definitely not all that matters.
He distracts from the game, he sets a terrible example for kids, he reflects a moral decline in part of our society and he perpepuates it. He takes away more from the game than he contributes even with all his god given talent that he obviously takes for granted.
He is exactly opposite of what I was taught when I was young and learnnig to play football and baseball. Sportsmanship, class, be respectful and a graceful winner and never be a poor loser. the same things I teach my son, I just hope I've taught him well enough to realize what a loser TO is and is never tempted to emulate him. There will be millions of other poor sports and low-lifes who will be happy to do that.

It's a shame all that talent had to be wasted on someone like TO when there are so many players with class out there that deserve it more.

Seric 01-14-2008 11:51 AM

Seeing that made my day. Period.

It was nothing short of satisfying to see them lose.
