Cloned Animals - Good Eating?

Does anyone really care about this? Maybe people are just getting worked up about this, but for me, I don't think it makes sense.

If I want to clone a cow to, let's say, kill it for food, I would need to get a cow, get DNA off the cow, do a bunch of scientific stuff, get another cow(?) to put the clone's embreyo in the 2nd cow, raise the damn thing, kill and eat it.

Seems like a lot less effort to get cows the way we get them now. The old fashioned way

Besides, as a business man, that makes no ****** sense considering the price of beef (or whatever animal). I would suppose this "cloned beef" would cost like $100 pound? Just a guess. If there are people that want to pay that kind of money to eat cloned food....let them. I don't give a s***.

Discuss.

I don't know how I feel about this, but I agree that it doesn't seem to make business sense on the surface.

The only way to get a consistent tasting burger.

I don't have any problems with it. I am guessing they will be aiming for a healthier great tasting meat, that doesn't vary.

I bet they are delicious. I'll eat them, especially farm-raised fish, which typically have little pollution.

MORE more more more more! Then again, there are these namby-pamby PETA bastards who don't want us to eat meat or drive cars with leather seats. I live across a canal from two of them; they called the police on me because I had a problem with them feeding wild iguanas. I paddled across the canal and asked the man to stop; He gave me an argument.

CAN you believe this? I ask my neighbor to not do something, and he gives me an attitude! I can't believe it. If I'm doing something and my neighbor is upset, I expect him to come over and tell me about it. I'll certainly comply with his wishes, as long as they are reasonable. But when I asked the butt-eater across the canal to stop feeding the wild animals that have probably done $1500-$2000 damage to yard that I live in...he didn't just ignore me...he actively gave me trouble back. "It's not my problem" was the answer of the stinking anus Nicholas Carr of NW 9th terrace when I pointed all this out to him. He then called to cops on me-!

I paddled back to my house, secured the kayak, and then went inside. THIS is the action of a PETA member. PETA members don't act according to rational laws or rules for behavior; they do what they want. This is why they all ought to be JAILED immediately. These are the ultimate domestic terrorists.

N!

I think the livestock cloning concept would be to clone those bulls and/or cows of high quality for milk or beef, and use them as continued breeding stock...not to directly consume the clones.

But then again, I'm no rancher; I just live amongst them!

Yeah, but you can murder 100's of them and it's like only killing one...spiritually.

I had some Kobe beef in Vegas last week that should definitely be cloned. It was so good, it's worthy of beefy massage parlors in every city. Some Japanese place in the Mirage. Obscene prices too.

And yes, they're for developing breeding stock. Why would you go through the trouble to clone them to eat when they still have to go through the whole gestation/birthing thing anyway.

It would be obscene in any currency. $2K for 9 people. And that was after 2nd rows seats at Cirque's Love. But I didn't pay either bill. Thankfully.

They are so delicious!

If we are not supposed to eat them, then why? did God make them out of meat.

We have special feeling for the PETA folks here in Montana.

Couldn't you selectively breed and then clone only the tastiest ones?

As far as people raising a stink about eating cloned food, I think it's a load of crap. I always remember back to what one of my biology profs said which was, "The tube doesn't care."
