Got a new ride this week.

I just picked it up this past week. Its got a Cosworth/Ford V12 and Bosch electrical systems. Hopefully its not going to be a headache. Its a 2001 DB7 Vantage with 18k miles. Sport interior, Brembo 355mm/330mm brake package, Sport exhaust(sounds very sweet), 18' Dymag Magnesuim wheels, 6 spd tranny, LSD, Premium sound system.
The entire body is aluminum and carbon fiber.

Best of all as of today everything still works.
I think this is one the best looking cars ever designed.
What do you guys think?

Sexy as all get-out...a rolling phallic symbol in the tradition of the E type Jaguar.

Nice car. I love Aston Martins, but I am afraid the headache is on it's way.

Electrical problems and troubleshooting

Hello all,
New to the forum, but could use help with either locating or figuring out what the diode packs are in line with the wiring associated to the interior light circuit. The wiring diagrams show them as connectors, but they are also diodes in line. Reason is someone prior to me buying the car installed a brace between the front struts and took a 12V line to ground cooking most all the harness for the interior light circuit. As most diodes it does not read continuity one way, but reads around 15K ohms the other. Is this resistance correct? Thanks to anyone that could assist.

The ride is suprizingly smooth and not cramped. The does have some heavy wheel hop if you lightly spin the rear wheels. If you punch it it skates smooth and sweet. This would make a very nice drift car with the way it handles.
It's fast but not a rocketship. My 82` with the C2T engine will smoke it in a side by side race.
Of course since I didnt insure it yet Ive only driven it 10 miles or so (pre purchase). I will have to make my own youtube video of the car. Knowbody has posted a good one showing it being beaten. aside from Clarckson anyway. Maybe I will do a drag vid against the 82' sc.
Btw the interior is breathtaking. The headliner is real suede. The dash components are real carbon fiber. Every inch is covered in soft Connolly leather. I guess with a $192k msrp it should have a nice gut. I didnt pay half that however.

Love those. What are the specs - HP weight, 0-60 etc.

I really like the new V8 vantage also, the styling is just amazing.

I had my eyes on a 2000 DB7 in Belleve, Wa. The wife was not willing to part with her Miata to help defray the cost. Guess I will have to save up a little longer for mine.

Congrats dude....simply beautiful car.

928 with an Aero kit? ............sorry I'm just jealous what a sweet ride! Don't let your 911 catch you doting on her too much. A woman scorned.......I'm just sayin.

Dang.

There is a V8 Vantage at a local dealership that has been haunting me lately.

While a new Cayman would be way cheaper, it looks like a turd next to the Aston Martin.

I like your decision.

The 911's will still be (after 12+ years of Porsche ownership) my first pick if im going out for a solo spirited drive. The Aston is more of a GT car in my opinion. Its big and very overpowered. Fun to drive yes. Better than a 20 or 30 year old 911? In most ways yes. Better to take out the wife? Yes. Will I bond with it? Dont think so. Will I join an Aston club? Definetly Not, I dont have enough class (or $) to hang with those guys nor would I want too. In short I will alway's be dedicated to the 911 cars and I feel most comfortable with the 911 crowd. I have 5 911 cars and 2 912's. They all know I love them.
Besides its 7 against 1. I'll take the Porsches odd's any day
