This thread has EVERYTHING to do with religion.
The abortion "issue" has been hijacked by religious interests in order to use it as a stepping stone to infuse their agenda into secular government. This, more than any other individual reason, is why we have to "hold the line" and refuse to budge on Roe v. Wade, imperfect though that decision might be. . . Like it or not, if we appeal Roe v. Wade tomorrow, even for clearly stated SECULAR reasons, the religious wackos would tout it as a victory, it would embolden them and we'd have a thousand other issues popping up that they'd be demanding change on, additional lawsuits, etc. At least by having the abortion thing hanging out there, it serves as a "lightning rod" for these types which keeps them focused and contained, thus minimizing the real damage they can do and chaos they can create. It's uncomfortable, but it does serve a useful purpose. The smartest thing to do is to give the abortion thing just enough attention so these types think they might just have a shot at changing it, but never act on it. It's the old "carrot" trick. By doing this, it keeps them and their agendas from spreading too much.

You think because a news story passes the blame of the Democrats continual failures onto a third party like religion, that suddenly something stinks. Well it just ain't so. There's no change in reality, just spin and you guys fall for it every time. Stop being spoon fed your information and start thinking for yourselves!
