About the same. I try and get together with the NYC group when there too.
4-5 and they all liked me until they met me.
1 so far, Grady Clay at Dart Automotive one afternoon. He was collecting antique Porsche literature on MFI if I recall correctly.
10-20 from Chicago, Texas, in Germany and then some.
Every winter the westerlies drive a few pelicans into the Tucson area. I haven't met any of them, though...They get shipped back to California.
I hope to meet Gogar in March. That'll be the first for me.
Quite a few. I've been to a timing belt party and a couple fun runs... i knew mikeCT and theChris before they joined the board, and have become pretty good friends with bluebullet and mike944. I even bought a Volvo from yellowline. Besides them, I have met a good number of pelicans from both coasts - CT944, singpilot, theCooler, rammstein... and probably about 20 others...
quite a few, some inadvertently.
I can't remember 'em all. rjp |
3 - Wayne, Souk, ThrownHammer
dtw did an awesome preview of my 911 but I didn't have time to meet him in NC when I bought it. |
I've met most of the ones in the DC area. From afar I've met Jordi, LeeH, Don Davis, a few other AZ Pelicans, in CA Nostatic, Don Plumley, met a few from the BMW bike section here, met Souk and probably a few others I'm forgetting.
Around two dozen, counting present and banned.
Likely about the same as you Jay, 20-30 Some locals who I met through Pelican. All sharing the enthusiasm that brings us back day after day. All good guys.
Visited Gogar, for the second year, this past weekend. I highly recommend it. |
maybe 30.
KT |
0 so far since I live in Sonyland.
But anybody is welcome to crash at my place if they don't mind slumm'n it :D Even more welcome once I finish remodeling my bedroom  |
I'm shootin for 60 by the end of April. Right now I'm at about 35.
About 5. Every single one has been awesome. Kinda worried because of my age I wouldn't be as welcome as others. Thankfully this isn't the case.
Wow, great question. I would say maybe 20 or so. I haven't had the time to talk to all of them in person nearly enough. I am one of the lucky few that has had Grady Clay in his garage. Grady and I sat and talked at length one Sunday. Unfortunately, my lovely significant other had different plans for me that day. I hope to spend more time with all of the Colorado and near Pelicans as it warms up.
I also hope to not have to bail on anymore fun runs, to get to a cell phone friendly place to call 911 due to being on scene during a motorcyle accident......yeah, that day wasn't too much fun. Bill |
About 2 dozen. Some I never would have guessed I'd meet, but they just happened to spot one of our cars and introduce themselves. I only knew about 5 before actually joining the board a few years back.
A few dozen. Many on Malibu and Big Bear runs, also on trips to Auckland, London, Montreal, Morgan City, Louisiana, Toronto, Vancouver, New York City, Vancouver, BC Canada, Honolulu,
a dozen or a little more...not bad considering that i'm arkansas..hardly a 'p-car hotbed'.. ;)
About 15 or more at our annual long weekend running the Tail of The Dragon in western NC.
A few more at Rennsport and other places. All good guys via first and lasting impressions. |
Well over 100. In person: from Ohio, Texas, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alberta Canada. Quite a few more over the telephone: from Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, Nevada....
it's great meeting other pelicanheads.
I'd have to guess in the two dozen category too.
Many Rennlisters too, although I don't surf there much? My wife and I, along with a couple of BC organizers (Jeff, Susan & Warren) started to host an annual drive and BBQ here in Salmon Arm a few years ago, the last one was so big we had to host the dinner in a hotel banquet room; if I remember there was about 75 people at the dinner! I didn't really even get to meet everyone though. I've enjoyed meeting each and everyone of them too! It's all about the Pcars! There's definately a few guys that I'd look forward to meeting one day as well..... Cheers to everyone!!! |
20+
Met a bunch down at Daytona at RRIII. Plus there is quite a few of us here locally.... Rob, what are the dates for this year?? I need to book holidays.... :) Cheers |
a dozen Canadians, a few dozen Washingtonians, maybe ten in California, 2 in Hawaii, another dozen in Texas, just a couple Oregonians.
so about 70 . . or about 10 per year |
Hey Jeff,
Yeah the run is organized by Jeff Grant from the Coast first and foremost and then the rest of us chip in and help to organize. Usually the 2nd week of July but last year was cancelled due to the Sun Peaks Run being at the same time (100's of cars at that one). Keep an eye on the Canadian Forum, it will be posted there for sure. Cheers Buddy! |
I've mew a few dozen Pelicans and it's always a pleasant event! Some of the best people I've ever met... I don't know what I would do without Tab Tanner from Autobahn Garage in Findlay, OH as he got my car running again after all of my feeble efforts failed!
Probably about 15-20. Hope to meet many more.
Just Byron
oh and I met Hugh too - fantastic tour in Hollywood. we still talk about it at work!
and way way back, maxnine took me on Mulholland in his 993 and even let me drive (couldn't believe it myself!) I have never met a Pelican I didn't like. SmileWavy |
I'm at about 40 ... the "meet & greet" rate has slowed since I moved out of NYC.
JP |
i'd say about 10 between the Chicago abd Dayton groups--all great people.
Hmmm. Tough to say, must be close to triple digits by now.
Zero
Unfortunately. |
I've easily met 50 or more - many were involved in this project...
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/250519-i-like-plaid-underwear.html?highlight=negaro That thread seems weird at first. You have to page down a bit in that thread to realize it is about a bunch of p-car enthusiasts from New England who secretly rebuilt a fellow pelican member's car after he crashed it at Limerock. Good times. |
10 or so.
Joeaksa, Lendaddy, Mb911, Tab Tanner, wcc, Oh haha, Chrisbennet, HWgeek, 1982911SCtarga and probably a few more I did not know I met. Sure seems like I met more of you though.
Just a couple, not much opportunity here in Wichita. Sold my wife's 4Runner to Paul (Seahawk), and met Dennis (Speeder) on his way through town. Anyone ever comes to town, the beer is on me!
Well over 50, including 4 in this thread alone!
