A dream political ticket for the presidency.

My personal dream ticket would include any two of the following three men:

Chuck Hagel, Jim Webb, or Tom Coburn.

Why are our two major political parties so brain dead most of the time?

What are Jim Webb's biggest accomplishments in office?

Where'd ya go?

You claimed Thompson was unqualified in part because he was not accomplished in the Senate. So now I ask you what Webb has done. Or maybe you just have a thing for fiction authors over actors?

We need a man like John Warner as President. No one else in the U.S. political scene even comes close to the cloth from which this man is cut.

Nearly everyone running aren't even qualified to tie the man's shoes.

I like Coburn more than any other politician in history. All time taxpayer hero. I wouldn't vote for Hagel under any circumstances, though I have hung out with him before and he is a nice guy. I vehemently disagree with him on plenty of issues and he has little more GOP base support than McCain. Webb is the absolute worst and I would write myself in before voting for him. He supports amnesty just like McCain, but worse yet, he answered my letter to him saying he was firmly against amnesty. Then he voted for it.

Probably that he's not like 70 percent of the Dems and not like 90 percent of the GOP.

Do you really want to compare what Webb has accomplished in his life compared to a B grade actor?

Yeah, I liked him also. Didn't seem as smarmy as most of the current crop of candidates.

Hmmm....I wonder if you would have the balls to say that to Webb if you and he were the only people in a locked room?

Lemme think...one of you boxed at the Naval Academy and later was a Marine platoon commander in Viet Nam where he earned the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts. Oh yeah, he also got a Navy Cross, the second highest decoration in the Navy and Marine Corps for heroism in Vietnam. One of you had the guts to basically tell Prez Bush to go fuk himself when Bush stupidly tried to make small talk about his son who was also a Marine and in Iraq.

The other one of you......um......goes on road trips.

Nah, I'm gonna have to go with the you don't have the no balls thing.

Glad to see a few years in the military almost 40 years ago qualifies one to run the country in you mind...funny how quick you are to insult current memebers of the military on this forum.
...and Webb's response to friendly remarks by the President were rude and were simply pandering to his anti-war idiot suppporters...pretty punk-assed behavior for a grown man...and I would gladly tell him to his face...in a locked room. Sheesh...what a troll.

OMG, you're 12 years old. it all makes sense now.

Or should I defend my ability to kick his ass? How does this chest thumpin style of political discussion work. Do we lay them on the table right away or is that a finale?

No, I don't have the letter anymore. It was an emailed response to the letter I posted to his website. I wrote Warner and Tom Davis, my Congressman too. Warner didn't respond. Davis said he was against it and he voted against it.

I'd say Webb's biggest accomplishment was beating George Allen. But then the Wash. Post pretty much ran an in-kind, free-of-charge campaign against Allen for a year or so before the election. (Too bad McCain-Feingold doesn't address that, eh?) Anyone who ran against Allen was gonna get the Post's unqualified support. And because VA has been getting so many new residents since the housing and job boom here, few of those new voters even knew George Allen was governor here or anything about his Senate tenure. They just got to VA, read every day in the Post about how evil Allen was and so voted for the other guy, who happened to be Webb. I think Webb will be easy to beat when he runs for reelection. People voted against Allen, not for Webb.
