If You Could Pick ANYONE For President..

Who would you choose?

I mean literary anyone. Not only the people running, but anyone. Politician or not. Which person in America would you see fit to run the nation?

Tim Hancock 01-27-2008 07:34 AM

Dick Cheney

I'd like to see Noam Chomsky and Arnold Schwarzenegger on the same ticket. As POTUS and VP respectively.

Shaun @ Tru6 01-27-2008 07:48 AM

that's easy, Senator John Warner.

Look, I'm a republican, I won't lie, however if you can't see the pure evil in that guy you must be out of your mind. Given his way we would probably have military rule, curfews, and a dictatorship.

So then, Scott, you're concern is that the doughnuts (sold to the children) would be sprinkled with crack?

I don't see any evil in the guy...heck, he gives away so much money each year to worthy causes that I find it hard to imagine that anyone could find him to be evil. Can you name anything specific? What makes you think we would have "military rule, curfews, and a dictatorship?"

Giving away money means nothing to me, plenty of bastards on the planet that masked their true intentions with charitable acts.

Lets look at a little history, with Haliburton he decided that rather than clean out asbestos from his various enterprises that it was just going to be too expensive in the long run, that shows a real sense of caring for his "fellow man."

This is the same guys that also lays off 11K people in a record 400 + million profit year, again, thats just not nice. People that can do that just give me the willies.

Don't forget he was rigth in there with Enron in the accounting practices affair, anyone that can do that, (see Joe Nacchio and others) has a low sens of moral values.

But hey, if you want a crook for president, more power to you, me however I want someone a little more honest.

I am not really sure of your point. If a man runs a company, it is his fiduciary responsibility to manage it appropiately. If the company made a 400M profit, he must have been doing something right. If a layoff is in the best interest of those who own the company (the shareholders), then he would have been wrong not to do so. Loyality? Can you tell me the same emplyees would have stayed with the company if they could have made a great deal more money elsewhare? How does that make him a crook? And if he was a crook, how come the Clinton administration attorney general did not come after him?

Accounting scandals make you a cook, and citing anything "Clinton" to me has absolutely no bearing, and in fact probably has no bearing on anything or anyone. And BTW, I could go on and list about another dozen or so infractions, but that would be a waste of bandwidth.
