Porsche under cover, Cambridge, MA
I was traveling on business last week in Boston, stayed at the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge (great place I might add, part of the Kimpton chain), nice if you visit the bio techs in the area...anyway I digress. Was walking through the parking lot and spotted this...anyone here claim it and reveal what is under cover?

I don't know the car, but it's old enough to not have a right side mirror.

Only if the headlights are up. Looks a LOT like the profile of my '71 Targa under cover.

Could be a 914 even with the headlights down (fenders with the turn signal lenses on the fronts stick out/up quite a bit).
Could also be an early 911, but the back looks more "teen-ish".

Ahh, good point. I think the key is what looks like the jack point.

Looks to me like a mid-year Targa.
Not a 914. Wheelbase is too short, overhangs way too long, car is too tall. |

Targa for sure. I'll say a 70, and I'll bet an S from what I can see of the offset of the wheels. And it's orange.

What were you doing in Cambridge? My company has since moved, but we used to be within spitting distance of the Hotel Marlowe.

Hey i was in Boston last week as well. Saw two Porsches...a red 944 near Jamaica Plain and a black 944 with one of those huge tails near Boston Common. A 944 doesn't make enough HP to need a wing that big.

Nice looking car.

My company supports the pharma/bio tech industry, so I was visiting a Cambridge based bio tech client of ours for a meeting.
Pic was from my iphone so it is not great, it is definitely an early 911. I didn't peek, not my property so I don't touch... I'm in Boston at least twice per month and really like the Marlowe...

looks like it could be orange.
never seen it driving around here. early cars are extremely rare in the Boston area.

the dash has a crack and it appears the front pan has some battery acid damage.

Houndstooth sport seats. Great option.

Those are 6" wide reproduction Fuchs. I don't know if that helps or not.
