NAMM 2009 trade music industry trade show
Cripes. Perhapes I should pay more attention when typing my title? Someone change it to something not so stupid?
Couple weeks ago the wife and I headed down to Anaheim for the NAMM 2008 trade show for the music industry. From what I hear, it's one of the largest trade shows in the world, with attendance around 90,000 people. I didn't get to take many pics...but here's what I got.. Myself (right) Jol Danztig of Hamer Guitars (middle) and my friend and direct competitor Jason Lollar on the left. Hamer guitars built a series of four one-off guitars featuring mine, Jason's, Seymour Duncan, and Tom Holmes pickups. Guitar were priced at nearly $10,000 each... ![]() Green haired chick ![]() Surfing with the Alien...? ![]() ![]() Speaking of the Alien... ![]() ![]() ![]() Yummy ![]() ![]() Wierdo... ![]()

must have taken the pics after 1pm. That's when the ghouls show up
![]() I went every year for 18 straight years. It is amazing the first time, and gets progressively less so every year. Mostly the same stuff warmed over. But the sheer size and volume is quite the assault on the senses. Haven't gone the last two years and I can't complain. I haven't gotten sick mid January...I always got sick right after NAMM. |

NAMM is cool...but yeah, same stuff warmed over and a bit larger as nostatic said. I worked a booth for 5 years when I was in the MI industry and it was fun, but sucked standing there all day....man your feet are killing you by the time the conventions over. Met some cool semi celebs including some of the well-known + even legendary musicians and producers that were using our gear and also met Jimi Hendrix's sister. Got some cool memories and stories from then, including some Ed Van Halen anectdotes.
Lots of babage, female pornstars working boths...even Fender had Kira Kenner working the booth at Nashville NAMM. Schecter Guitars always did a nice job with the booth babage too. Actually I prefered Nashville NAMM cause it is a little smaller show and I really like Nashville as a city. Anaheim NAMM is just huge, loud and crowded... did I mention "loud"? Everybody's playing at the same time. Next time I plan to go back as a guest. |

Wait, how do you walk in those shoes? I can't even walk in my sprint cleats, with quarter inch spikes. I'd be tripping over my feet constantly.
