If Ferrari owners are posers than are fake Ferrari owners poser posers?

Just wondering . . .

Seriously, who cares? It's not like they were being sold as real, and the buyers knew they were fake.

Yep, all of a sudden, the ghetto guy next door owns a Ferrari. Either he's a drug dealer, or it's fake. Just like the women who buy Gucci in Tijuana. You know it's fake.

I'm pretty sure that these were the equivilent of kit-cars over in North America - think Fiero conversion
These are not mirror copies by any stretch, but the Italians have recently been on a crackdown on any type of fake.

I think some replicas of rare Maserati and Ferrari race cars were even crushed last year - Kind of like having the police crushing a Beck Spyder because it's a 'counterfit'.

Regards,
Andrew M

Ha ha, they didn't even have an origional, they were working off photo's.

Imagine how unreliable it would be; built in southern Italy and the makers probably haven't even seen a real one close up.

Ummm, a beaten up Fiat Uno (in southern italy most cars are beaten up fiat unos) with a fibreglass Ferrari body.

From the article:
Quote:
The ring used mostly Pontiacs as their base, but also Mercedes and Toyotas, building a copy of a Ferrari body over the original car's engine.
Toyota also makes a mid engine car, but what did they do to the Mercedes?
