"It's okay to eat fish because they don't have any feelings."

I don't eat much fast food. But those McDonald's fish sandwiches they are pretty good. I feel like crap after eating any of that stuff. It's pretty good while your eating it. I think it will eventually kill you.

It's all good in moderation.

I ate one of their Super Breakfasts near Willow Springs last Sunday and quite frankly I though it sucked. The bacon was like warm mini pieces of jerky, the sausage dry and tasted like the bacon, the eggs had no taste and the 1/2 English muffin was so hard it broke when I bit into it. I ate a Big Mac or something like that about 6 months ago and I was equally unimpressed. Maybe my tastes have changed in the last few years, but I still think a Whopper is far superior when your choosing fast food. As far as fast food, El Pollo Loco is pretty good, so is Baja Fresh and Pocquito Mas (I may have spelled that one wrong). I know they are all three based on a Mexican theme, but they at least taste like food, and are semi not bad for you.

Final Ingredient Some Halibut= FISH

Sapporo Guy 02-07-2008 03:35 AM

lolo ... anybody here ever make a "fillet-o-fish" ;)

The fish parts are decent enough but that dam cheese ... I tend to stay away from them.

I lost my appetite for them after watching the cheese go from a light orange to a dark orange during the day.

Now, let's not talk about how many Big Mac top buns I dropped on the floor and slapped back on ;)

Not good! well, I was only 16-17 at the time :P

KFC uses poutlry products ... now what the hell is that ?!?!?!

Whopper does taste better, but still like Carl's Jr. !

I used to buy pretty good Cod at Wal-Mart and the package used to say "Product of Norway." But now it says, "Product of China." WTF?

Would you eat fish from China?

Sorry Terry I hate to rain on your parade, but farmed fish as just as bad or in most cases worst that open water fish... Can we not just get some form of non-contaminated, non-pestiside, non-madcow, non-genetically enhanced food ANYMORE!

Soilent Green IS people.....

lendaddy 02-07-2008 07:13 AM

Yea, I'm not buying the polluted lakes and streams BS either. Can you point me to any outbreak of ill health caused by eating native fish at all?

NICKG 02-07-2008 07:23 AM

Believe it or not, McDonalds, Burger King and Chik-fil-a actually have some pretty strict guidelines concerning the food they serve. I have been to the processing plants that prep the meats (beef, chicken, pork and fish) as well as the veg factories. In all cases, the food processing facility had dedicated lines just for these chains and the QC as well as ingrediant mix was different - actually more strict than the stuff you would buy in the grocery store.

I have no problem eating at these places - they just contain way too much fat but other than that they do use good meat to make the product.

Suppose we should not even mention Long John Silvers fish? I eat it about 3 times a year just to keep the grease inside my heart at a high level.

Sorry but love the "crumbles" that they have but they are a heart attack waiting to happen...

I eat the F-O-F on Fridays during Lent if I am need of some lunch. They really aren't that bad. Plus I think it's cool the McD's discounts them during that time!

Sweet lord don't even mention Chik Fil A in the same sentence as those other joints!

For those that aren't blessed with an ocean within a few feet of their home Red Lobster is not seafood. Oddly enough neither are 80% of the 'restaurants' in our town that claim to serve seafood.

Ya know the McD's in our area actually served 'crabcakes' for some time. Those sob's probably don't even know what 'mustard' is!

I have eaten many, many pounds of fish in China and loved every bite of it. In fact, I'm not sure I recall a meal there where I did not see the fish alive before they killed it. Talk about fresh food. Below is one of my meals about 30 min. before it was brought back on a plate. Man, it was good.

Hey, how about extending that invitation to others that might get over to the eastern shore. The place where the "wooder" makes the best ice tea.

I have never been saltwater fly fishing, but sure would like to. If I am ever out that way plan on seeing me! And for any of you that likes a nice coldwater river for trout fishing and get out this way, just let me know!
