Rafferty's Rules Shiraz

I don't particularly feel like logging onto a wino forum (most of the conversations there leave me with a blank look on my face as i am totally lost) so i thought i'd post up as i try new wines (and beers). Would love to hear feedback from anyone. As this is PPOT i figure wine/beer is fair game right?

On to the Rafferty's.

Strong alcohol smell when i opened it and a bit strong when tasted right out of the bottle. Not a lot of 'spice' flavor to it (maybe the alcohol overpowered it?).

Let a glass sit for about an hour and the alcohol flavor was less intense but still wasn't wild about it. Will try a glass or two again tonight.

Pd $12 and right now it's not one i'd buy again.

You let beer sit for an hour?

No, Shiraz is red wine.

Interestingly I did recently try a Kumelbacher (sp?) Eisenbock which was supposed to be served at approx. 60deg.. I'll post up on that when i drink the next bottle (have to finish the shiraz first).
