hard to believe that is flyable or landable? must of happened on landing? belly landing followed by jacking up and manual deployment of nose gear? why else could gear be functional ..and have that belly damage.. possible this water tanker clipped trees while pulling up after taking on h20? just thinkin here.. random http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414010848.jpg |

No trees were harmed in the landing of this aircraft. As it was explained to me, the crew could not get a nose wheel down indicator. One crew member was in the nose area trying to manually deploy the nose gear with out success forcing the crew to land without a nose wheel. I was not there and I am NOT quarterbacking their decisions. The only question I have would be, once they had the field made, why wouldn't they shut down and feather the props to minimize engine damage. Now they are looking at two new engines and fuselage repairs. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...fb5fa6452b.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
