I always wanted one of those growing up. Never got one, but look at them every once in awhile.

Looking at the man in the grey shirt standing at the gas pump, reminds me of what I like to call, "the universal pump pose". Almost every person who ever has used one of those style pumps, has gotten to enjoy attempting to read those digital type screens at a small airport. Its usually in direct sunlight which is nearly impossible to do on those older pumps or timed out displays.. Kinda funny if you start paying attention to it. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...74d0be1090.jpg Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
Blended wing, lifting body-esk.
The Air Force has been looking at it. Lots of advantages. X-48B Blended Wing Body | NASA http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1465139922.jpg My company is building a UAS on the same principle for commercial UAS. Quote:

Boeing has been toying with a blended wing passenger aircraft for some time. There are some considerations once we want to put people in one of these things that don't come up when they are bombers and freighters.
People like to be able to see out, through real windows. Or at least have one nearby. It's a real psychological hurdle, believe it or not. People don't like to sit too far out from the aircraft's roll center. They get kinda squeamish when the ship banks very much. So, they have to sit towards the center - no windows. Cargo goes outboard, but doesn't need windows... hmm... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1465172781.jpg |
