RIP...
I know Captain America was the iconic bike from the movie (and there was subsequently quite a tale of intrigue surrounding it after it got stollen post filming), but I always liked Dennis Hopper's bike better. That, and I always wondered how his hat stayed on... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1566057934.jpg The more observant among you might notice something about the above photo... ;) |

I agree, Dennis’s bike is more to my liking. My father has gifted me his ‘48 pan that I plan on turning into a tavern bobber along the lines of the DH bike only with a sprung front end. My father got the chopper bug after the movie came out and collected a pair of original ‘48 parts bikes. Unfortunately he sold and traded off most of the frames and accessories and built a swing armed freeway cruiser... not my style. I plan on going back to a sprung hardtail with the ‘48 running gear. The great Laszlo Kovacs filmed Easy Rider-he escaped Hungary's iron fist in '56 and came to the US along with Vilmos Zsigmond and both became very successful Cinematographers
Riding shots were filmed from a convertible Chevy Impala-Rest in Peace Peter Fonda http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1566063705.jpg |

It's been reversed. Notice the primary drive and drive chain appear to be on the right sides of the bikes, instead of the left side where they belong: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1566094240.jpg |

Well, that was interesting. No sale at $17m, but a quick and bumpy ride to that point.
