This pic was taken when I gave him my original McLaren team shirt from 1971 which fit him better then me. One of the nicest people in racing.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1639964249.jpg

Does your friend know what ever became of this car? I took these pics. That mud-covered guy and his passenger (?son?) were really lucky to have not been killed but reportedly were also not the car's owner.

I'm afraid I don't really have much on this. It was campaigned at Bonneville by a man named "Robert". It used an an Air Research Turbo with 18lbs of boost, Hillborn direct Injection and ran on methanol. Supposedly hit 201 mph at 6,700 rpm. Shovel top end on a Pan bottom end. I believe the class he ran was APSPBF - special construction, partial streamlined, supercharged fuel. He said "2000" for the displacement class but, being a Pan/Shovel, that just cannot be true. I bet it was 1350, since he says it was a dead stock Pan bottom end. Sorry, that's all I've got.

No, just a custom/fake "Gotham" plate on the rear.

Part of the Paul Mazze collection, up for auction next month; he's got some really neat vehicles besides the Batmobile:

Wacky Rides from Bruce McCall

Bruce has been doing 'retro-future' and totally amazing illustrations for decades for National Lampoon, The New Yorker, etc. Here are some nuggets worth a read...

I stumbled on this last night. Had never heard of it. 5632 was repainted gold for rail fan tours in 1964. It's a trip because it looks just like a brass model engine from a distance, and some pics even make real scenes look like model railroad sets. Made me do a double take! :D
