Here's another on the "Freightliner theme"...The back compartment has floor-to-ceiling built-in kennels for the show dogs, and it is always set at 65 degrees no matter what the front living quarters are set at. (this prevents the dogs from "blowing coat" no matter what the temps are and keeps them very happy. It was built by United Specialties (they will customize any chassis to your specific needs). That's one of our Cavaliers being "toted" back to his "home away from home" after a stretch at a truck stop.

Nope, they were driven by a driver in the cockpit. Check out the pics of the controls on the second page of this link...no strings or wires there. Also, read a drivers obituary on the first page.

The 1100′s motor was a 1089cc OHV inline four, which made somewhat less than 40 HP, and powered the rear wheels. Abarth, in typical fashion, bolted two (relatively) massive Webers onto a custom intake manifold, fitted one of his signature exhaust systems, and raised the compression slightly. The result was 66 HP, or 61 HP/L, which was not bad for the mid-1950s.....................

.............The 1100 motor was fitted longitudinally in the front of the Spider’s boxed sheetmetal chassis, driving the rear wheels in the conventional manner. Suspension was mainly carried over from the 1100. Weighing 1,151 lbs., the 207A might as well have been four atoms of anti-hydrogen compared to the mass of a modern sportscar, and performed admirably well. The body was designed by Mario Boano of Carrozzeria Boano, a barchetta-esque, lowslung, chunky design. Creased and finned, with a slinky plexiglass windscreen, the 207A looked fast standing still (as clichéd as that sounds, it is true) . Finished in a wild two-tone finish and sporting prominent side-mounted exhausts (a little bit of free advertising for Abarth’s core business) for its debut at the 1955 Turin Motorshow, the 207A was well-received and Abarth filled 10 orders.

Wrong side...the 'hellhole' is under the battery on the passenger side and is caused by acid leaking into the suspension ear.

Something is not right with this pix. The crack looks old, it did not just open up. How did that vehicle make it across? Slow and nose heavy, I don't see that jumping the gap.
