New family hauler

This is on it's way from VA. Sold the Montana today.

70,000 miles with full dealership records from day one. It's not a 540 but we are looking forward to it's arrival.

shhh....I've already been scoping Ebay and BMW sites for the cool 17" BBS from the 540 sport. hehehehehehe

70,000 is not even broken in for a BMW..... You are aware that it is a "station wagon" though right?

Yes, it's a wagon but it's not an SUV or a minivan.

Wifey wanted an SUV and I wanted a sport wagon(WRX). We both saw this at the same time and went for it.

turbo would be nice too, or supercharger, just don't forget your octane boost.

I drove a V8 one of those, it was a beast, big heavy and fast. As the guy said who detailed him on it when he picked it up, you would have to be trying to kill yourself to get hurt driving this thing. Sweet car/truck thing smaller inside then I thought it would be

Put a set of Bridgestone REVO 1's on that puppy! I just drove my MazdaSpeed3 to/from St Clair/East China Twp from Wyandotte in snow/freezing rain/sleet/ice and the car was glued to the road and I didn't have any problems while cars all around me were sliding off the road, etc...

Snows might be on the car already, it's hard to tell from the pictures.

Wayne,

I had a 528I and I loved it, I only sold it because I couldn't carry wife, twins and dogs at the same time. As far a the 17" BBS wheels do not get the BBS ones. I found exact knock offs for 1/4 of the price, and they looked just as good. If I can remember the maker I'll PM you.

I also got the BMW centercap stickers with the wheels so you wouldn't even know they weren't BMW.

Be careful with the speeds, I found more than once on the hiway I was going way faster thant I thought as the car is just too smooth.

Have fun...

BBS makes lightweight, strong, high quality wheels. Most of the replicas easily weight another 50% more, and are more prone to bending and fracture. I used to spend a LOT of time on BMW forums, so I saw all of the horror stories. As for the weight, it DOES matter. Unsprung weight makes a big difference in how a car goes, stops, and handles. Plus, you can find the BBS E39 sport package wheels used for what a set of new knock-offs will cost. Pretty much a no-brainer.

Nice car, way to not buy an SUV. You'll have more fun, and be able to haul just as much stuff with the 528i touring.
