Limited Edition Boxster. Cast your vote.

As we have seemingly went poll crazy, I figured we could have one with some Porsche content.

They have come out with a limited edition. Its orange. Bright, bright orange. It also has some aero ground effects.

What do you think?

I like the wheels and the areo but the color is a bit much (as such I voted)

Of course if someone gave me one I would take it, drive the piss out of it, and the color wouldn't bother me at all (but then I'm kind of a wacky guy... painted my first bicycle metalflake purple, painted my first apartment orange)

I really, really, really, want one of the limited edition 550 boxsters but alas I am financially challenged.

possibly so...is this an 's' model? otherwise, i like it and having a boxster or a different color would help break away from the cookie cutter sense you get from seeing all the usual colors..

It's never worth paying the extra coin for "Special Edition" anything. You can get more car for less money without paying for the spiffy label. I'm actually indifferent about the orange, but ... it really is orange. Blech.

...I agree with this statement in principle. But I also think of it in the same way when a woman gets dressed up to go out. Sure, she's the same woman under the clothes, but to see her "dolled up" still makes her just a little more special.

I too would agree with that in principal... but I also agree with DD that sometimes it is OK to spend a little extra to have something "special".

That and at Porsche events where they sell cars the special editions get more attention and a few more bucks.

I don't know if it is the same car but I saw orange boxter in downtown Bellevue this week. I went back and looked it up, it's a limited edition car, there were 500 cars total Boxter and Boxter S. The car came in GT3 RS Continental orange with sports exhaust, spoilers front and rear, 1 inch biggers rims, alcantara inserts on the interior and a GT3 RS alcantara steering wheel. I am not big Boxter fan but this car stoped me crossing the street and got a second and third look..

Found the info in Excellence issue #161 December 2007

I like the wheels, too. The black insets are tastefully retro, IMHO.

edit: A wheel like that would work well on a 997.

Best,

Kurt

I like the color, but I do not like the wheels at all.
