Yep, I traded that for a 3-minute commute. 7 if you count the time it takes to walk to my car.

One of my kids lived near Wrigleyville and worked downtown south. He said that sometimes he would fall asleep riding the El and do the round trip thing!

I was departing Chicago from the Loop a few Thursdays ago - one with a big snow. It took me 2 hours to go 10 miles. I could have walked out of Chicago faster. It took me 7.5 hours to get home, just north of Milwaukee. Normally it's 2-2.5 hour drive for me.


I couldn't handle that everyday.
