No wonder we can't find O.B.L. in Pakistan, we couldn't even FIND THIS guy!

CHICAGO (AP) - Self-made business tycoon Steve Fossett, whose thirst for adrenaline drove him to fly around the world solo in a balloon, climb mountains and aim for speed records, has been declared dead, 5 months after his small plane vanished. He was 63.

Perhaps, he doesn't want to be found.

We are still finding pilots and planes that crashed during training in WW2 in this part of the country. For that matter, we are still finding underground bunkers in Europe, some still with weapons and food in them, so lets not be too hasty on the Steve Fossett issue.

A lot of my friends spent a lot of time in airplanes searching for him, and its really rugged country where he has his last flight.

People back East have no idea how rugged and impenetrable parts of the West are. I've been within 70 miles of every point in the lower 48, and you can't do that in a motor vehicle.

So imagine a 70 sq. mile grid and then imagine how you'd search hundreds of those by foot, by kayak or raft or what have you.

And a lot of those grids cannot be reached on horseback either.
