It's a bust for me as well. Full tripod, big lens, clouds moved out of the way, but the atmosphere did not play nice and all the pics look fuzzy in camera. I will see if any turned out in photoshop in a bit :(.

Too little light for autofocus, too little light for my eyes to work right with the focus, but not horrible...

I'd have to double check but if memory serves - 300mm lens set at about 280, 2x teleconverter (Nikon D50 so effectively 840mm), ISO 400, F6.3 @ 1/4sec.

Well, the moon shots were pretty dismal. The photo forum I visit, is turning up the same thing. I have only seen one picture there that was really sharp.

had a perfectly clear sky in ne ohio......been years and years since i got to see a total lunar eclipse, good stuff :)

I took this 20 minutes ago, post eclipse, no longer a true full moon. The lens I have used for the previous partial moon pics is not available, so, I used my Tamron 200-400mm with a 1.4 extender. It's rather optically poor, but...

Oh, my surprise didn't work out. My dad has the magical lens and he took a pic with the moon at a better angle, but it had the same distortions.
