It's a bust for me as well. Full tripod, big lens, clouds moved out of the way, but the atmosphere did not play nice and all the pics look fuzzy in camera. I will see if any turned out in photoshop in a bit :(.

Too little light for autofocus, too little light for my eyes to work right with the focus, but not horrible...
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1203565553.jpg I'd have to double check but if memory serves - 300mm lens set at about 280, 2x teleconverter (Nikon D50 so effectively 840mm), ISO 400, F6.3 @ 1/4sec. |

http://www.groupelacasse.com/gl_admi...k_charcoal.jpg The folks over at the cloudynights.com forums have some pretty good pics up, already. http://www.cloudynights.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2206914&page=0&view=coll apsed&sb=5&o=all&fpart=1&vc=1&PHPSESSID=143f78a648 da70338e81e3a8b7b3feda |

Well, the moon shots were pretty dismal. The photo forum I visit, is turning up the same thing. I have only seen one picture there that was really sharp.

had a perfectly clear sky in ne ohio......been years and years since i got to see a total lunar eclipse, good stuff :)
the pics above are awesome :) |
I may have a little surprise picture. Tonight may have not been a total loss....

I took this 20 minutes ago, post eclipse, no longer a true full moon. The lens I have used for the previous partial moon pics is not available, so, I used my Tamron 200-400mm with a 1.4 extender. It's rather optically poor, but...
490mm http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1203576862.jpg Oh, my surprise didn't work out. My dad has the magical lens and he took a pic with the moon at a better angle, but it had the same distortions. |
