All the left wing crowd here has rubbed the letters off their keyboards typing "no blood for oil" type statements. If opec decided that America was just too big a pain in the ass and they were cutting off the flow, would you be prepared to freeze & starve in the dark or go take it?

If we nuke the entire region, it won't hurt the oil, right?;)

Considering we are by far their biggest customer, and do all we can to kiss the terrorist asses of the OPEC countries, I don't see them cutting us off anytime soon. Hey, there's always ANWR.

They need us more than we need them. I sure hope diesel, hybrid, electric, hydrogen and whatever else soon becomes the mode of transportation here. It'd be great to finally tell OPEC to shove it.

Why don't you list your plan first if that scenario developed and what exactly would your modus operandi be in such an unlikely situation?

How could ANWAR make us 100% independent? Everything I have read about it disagrees with that.

Arctic National Wildlife Refuge:

those who want to drill there say there is a lot of oil. --I expect there must be if those people want to go there to bring out oil.

those who want to NEVER drill there say there is not much oil. --I expect that those people have NO idea if there is oil there or not.

I hope we drill at ANWAR, then kill the OPEC people.

you've been wrong so many times before, I think your expectations are based on nothing. I suppose if the oil rigs were cast, you might have something, otherwise not so much.

This would never happen. The world economy would collapse and that would be bad for most everybody.

India, EU and China could pick up the slack I think.

If I were President, I'd drill in ANWAR and run out the supply in less than 2 years. During this time, though a touch fascist I admit, I'd combine government and corporate research resources to create a new and renewable energy source(s) that would yield a 20% demand of current value dependence on foreign oil and natural gas.

I would announce this program in the first 30 days of my Presidency. It would commence on Jan 1 in the following year and end 2 years after that. It would be multi-tiered to include energy development, infrastructure, sustainability, etc.

oh yeah well if I were the president I would get a bj in the oval office.
