Mac's don't support tablet input nearly as well as Windows, same for 3-D apps.
Or do simple things like print text in less time than it takes to type it.

BootCamp or Parallels. Your intel-based Mac will boot Windows as a native OS. Anything that will work on a PC works on a Mac.

So they will all hook into the proper channels on my network without any fussing with configuration? (If they work at all...) None of these applications are stand-alone and require various hooks into different kinds of servers (Unix and zOS) to work. You're telling me that a Mac can replicate all of Windows built-in network connectivity too?

Aion, MMORPG. Not really a business need now is it?

The balance are highly specific to corp enterprise applications. A market that Apple does not service so partially correct. I don't go to my Harley dealer looking for 4 door sub compacts.

But since those apps do run on Linux, which is a native OS for Power PC and Intel Macs the hardware is certainly useable. I am not talking emulation or virtualization here, but Linux running native on the box. Oh yeah, XP and Vista run native as well so again you could use the hardware, if you wanted to.

island,

Tablet input? Where'd you get that one from? Never heard that before.

Elaborate please.

Wrong. I've never heard of a game called Aion.

Well I am in the Video Games business so that's the first thing I thought of.

What does your Aion do?

Just saw the link.

CA product?

Know a thing or three about them.

Now I'm embarrassed, I did a stint as their Creative Director. Never heard of that product before.

BTW, used my Mac there every day. They did not even know it was on the network.

I'm an atheist conservative with a gasoline powered can opener . . . and a Mac user since 1984.

Do I fit the the stereotype?

Best,

It's a rules-based programming language.

I don't know but it seems that the PC users are the first to criticize Mac users.

Could it be an inferiority complex?

How any threads you ever see started by a MAC user criticizing PCs?

Gave my overflow work to a bud, put $130k in his pocket for FY07. Kept 10% for the lead and managing the client.

Worked on a rush project Fri/Sat. Gave the client a deal on it. $10k for two days work. Really sucks.

Times are so tough.
