Oh for cryin' out loud, is this going to turn into another thread where Frogger & 72Doug2,2S make 500 posts each going back and forth to hear themselves talk and doing nothing to sway the other's opinions?
C'mon guys. Let it go already. |
Frollicking with T-Rex and veggie bears...I'm still in stitches! :D

So death is a result of sin but if I don't eat then I'm gonna die so I guess eating is a sinful act? This explains why my Wife can;t be in the same room as me when I am eating wings...

So I guess Tyranosaurus Rex had big, sharp, pointy claws so it could help with the gardening?

Thanks for the kind words, but there is no need to apologize. I am sorry if I can across as a hypocrite and/or was engaged in ridicule; neither was my intent. While I do have some strong opinions, I don't have a monopoly on "right". Shouldn't you have been wearing a hard hat around the machinery or is your head as hard as mine? :D Best, Kurt |
Observation:
People that believe the Bible are narrow-minded blankety blanks that deserve to be shot for teaching their kids what they believe. They have no tolerance for other people's views and are closed minded. It is OK to mock them with school children-like name calling. People that have no tolerance for those blankety blank narrow-minded Christians are actually enlightened and open-minded in the way they mock Christians. They don't have to be tolerant of anyone else's beliefs because they are smarter than everyone else and if you disagree then you are obviously a blind religeous fanatic. They know that true brotherly love allows us to say Quote:
OK. I understand. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsU27w34ZHU&feature=related This is child abuse. The creation thing is hardly child abuse. Who cares what parents tell their kids, they'll work it for themselves in the future. |

My first impression was that it was a parody as well. So, we got our telomeres from god after the original sin? Someone want to explain to me why we only see trilobites in fossil beds from the Cambrian, dinosaurs in the Jurassic and Cretaceous, and modern mammals including humans in Cenozoic fossils. None of them intermixed.

It seems this straw man that thinks he is smarter than everyone else and who taunts like a school boy is used often. I've stated my beliefs which I think are similar to other agnostic, atheist and even some religious folks: 1) There is a very large amount of tested and confirmed evidence across multiple disciplines of science that say evolution occurred and is still occurring; this is widely and generally accepted among numerous folks from the atheist to the devout (note the Catholic Church); 2) Evolution does not attempt to describe how life initially arose, which leaves the door open for a deity that may have started the ball rolling then stood back and allowed "natural" processes to occur; 3) By its very nature, science does not claim to have all of the answers, which is contrary to many, but certainly not all(!) religious folks via the "Holy Texts". It is my opinion that ANY person who claims to know it all is delusional. 4) I am not a scientist, so when I state my support of evolution I am doing do so "on the shoulders of giants", not primarily from my own immediate knowledge. I don't think most supporters of creationism/ID are stupid or ignorant, just as I don't think most supporters of evolution are brilliant. But, it is my personal opinion that it is very difficult to ignore the very real and very vast body of knowledge that not only supports evolution, but confirms it. Even the Catholic Church had to accept evolution in the face of the proof. I am not going to change anyone's mind. But, it was the influence of a couple of friends and a personal search for knowledge that led me to accept evolution and to question my former religious beliefs. Barking and ridiculing the devout, which I have been guilty of from time to time, is not the most effective way to encourage the search for knowledge and for that I apologize. But please don't claim that folks like me "know it all", are closed minded and are hypocrites! Like science, I remain flexible and open to new knowledge and reserve the right to change my mind should evidence contrary to my beliefs come forward! :) I commend the religious folks who also have an open mind and who do not claim they or a collection of texts contain all of the answers. Having said all of that, I do find the video initially posted as funny as it flies in the face of fundamental science and well explained and tested theories (see scientific definition of "theory" please!). The referenced video would also be disallowed as a learning tool in most probably every public school in the US. FWIW. Best, Kurt |

You guys should really watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c94b1_dx9Q8 To see the rest of the video follow the response links. You will see what I am talking about, Christian or not. This is not poking fun at Christians. It is pointing out how the evangelicals, who I consider to not actually be Christian because of their intolerant tendencies, are trying to make children into some kind of army. An army with the sole purpose of fighting a cultural war against those within the US that are not evangelical Christians. This goes against the basic principles of the United States; i.e. against religious prosecution with a separation of church and state. I am sure a lot of you will agree that using children, some only 9 years old, in pro-life rallies with tape over their mouths saying "LIFE" is wrong. Also, telling children they have sinned and making them cry at church is also wrong. Children are supposed to be innocent. However, both of these things happen in the video... along with a whole bunch of craziness you have to see to believe. |
back to the video ;)
So, based on the video (creationist one), I wouldn't be able to eat a nice and juicy burger if there wasn't sin ?!?!? the other video: Child abuse should be punishable by public torture! Waking 2 kids together so they bonk their heads is just wrong! |
