Iran #1 Power in the World
|
I find this article very encouraging. I don't put much stock in Ahmadinejad's words (other than I think they are often designed to drive up the price of crude at the behest of Russia).
What is of note, is how his comments were in response to internal dissidents--in Iran's government! This is good news. Not only are we hearing that there is disagreement within Iran's government, but we are hearing the actual words of disagreement. Perhaps moreso than Iraq, I believe the people of Iran are our friends and are capable of establishing a democratic government for themselves. What stands in their way is the current government and the Mullahs. |
Got to love Aberdiberjob. He makes GW look calm and rational.

Iran has WMDs'
|
Any bets on how long these dissidents continue to draw breath?
Suprising this would happen and even more surprising the word got out at all. I know a lot of Persians and every single one is pro-America, granted I met them here, so, that sort of skews the sample a bit, but they all tell the same tale, a country wanting to get out from under oppression, or even better kick their oppressors to the curb |
It's always humorous to listen to many Americans and even the goobers in the media talk about Ahmadinejad. Anyone with even a precursory knowledge of Iran knows that he is no more the ruling power in Iran than the Queen is in England.
He is basically a figurehead who exists at the whim of the Mullahs and Ayatollahs who ARE the real power in Iran. Not sure about this "BREITBART.COM" BUT whenever you read an article such as this one about the internal workings of Iran and it does not even mention the Mullahs or Ayatollahs you can be pretty sure that the author is either incredibly stupid or has an agenda. |
The Mullahs came to power as they were the only ones who were organized to opose American meddling in Iranian domestic policy. Iranians want to determine their own destiny and not have the USA interfer. The only way to have done that is to kick out the Americans. The USA doesn't like that kind of thing and as such labels them as a rogue state to punish their self determination.

Yeah - "self determintation" to fund violence in Leabanon and around the world.

Violence WHERE? Iran very clearly views Hammas and Hezzebolla as freedom fighters trying to oust the occupiers of Palestein. Hammas, Hezzebolla and the IRA all can be viewed as secular locus specfic organizations. These organizations don't target anything but their specfic enemies. Al Qaedea is a religious experience whose enemy is Western culture...very different. Unfortunately Gaijin you have been indoctrinated by the American media to paint everybody with the same brush. If you truly want to solve the problem you can not lump everyone together in the same pot. That has been the fallacy of the American approach to the Terrorist problem. That can only escalate the problem. |

FWIW - the IRA were a bunch of commies dressed up as "freedom fighters" skimming the proceeds of supid American donations - much of it from my fellow (and ignorant) NYers.. |

And I suppose you think the Shaw was a paragon of democratic virtue? Someone who was not proped up by America. Get your head out of you @ss. America does dirty deeds done dirt cheap, how else do you think you get to live so large in comparison to the rest of the world. |

If U don't think the IRA isn't a TERRORIST ORG just go talk to the Brits who got blown up in London. Or Lord Montbatten at the botom of the sea. |
This is what is so fking maddening...the double standard the US Government applies.

What right did the Brits and our CIA have to overthrow Mossadeq and put the scummy Shah Pahlavi in power back in the 1950's? That's how long we have been fuking with the internal affairs of Iran and other nations. And then we assisted the despot Shah to help him stay in power for decades against the will of the Iranian people. If you would read a bit instead of constantly acting like your opinion makes something right you would know that was the underlying reason for the Iranian hostage crisis. |

And yes I do think the IRA was (is?) a terrorist organization. |
Have to agree. All the Iranian/Persian people I've ever met are extremely nice/friendly people and they are all very pro-America and (like Americans) ashamed of their government but loyal to their people/nation.
I think the whole "capture the hearts and minds" strategy that we thought would work in I-wreck would work a lot better in Iran, to be honest but that's just one guy's opinion. I'm sure there is a certain percentage of anti-American/anti-western folks over there too. |
Let's get back on the real topic.
Has anyone met a Persian young lady? We had three Persian women students in our graduate architectural class, and they are hot!!!!! Smooth, olive, radiant skin, nice bodies, pretty faces, and smart as a whip. Mmmmmmmm. Persians!!!!!!!!! |
THIS
IS SPARTA!!!! |
And look what being Spartans got them!!
I'd rather boink a Persian chick than admire the Spartan's resolve to commit suicide. |
