Who's At Work Today (Saturday?)

I am. I don't usually work on weekends, and the family is out of town, so I don't really mind.

But I don't plan to make a habit of it. I spent 10 years working 6.5 days a week - all day on Saturday and 1/2 day on Sunday, or vice-versa, every week - and just am not up for that any more. I figure if I'm not working smarter, better fix that, rather than simply working longer.

Your thoughts? Do you usually, sometimes, rarely work on the weekends? What about in the evenings, meaning after 6PM?

lolo, that's my life ...
9-9pm with time to commute to the next job.

I try my best not to work Sundays unless I'm alone and it won't affect the person I'm with.

However, I don't think that this is really a good lifestyle and has negative affects on relationships ... don't ask ...

I was completing report cards and Individual Education Plans today, but from home, which makes it a bit nicer. I worked a lot more weekends when I was an engineer.

Sapporo Guy, are you an English Language Teacher in Japan? I used to do that in Nagano, but I never managed to find the hours that you are working!

I work when my TV shows or features require it. Sometimes at night, often on a Friday night/Saturday morning because that's when we are able to get street/freeway closures for car chases, blowing up *****, etc. I take comp time off now and then. I don't take it off 1 for 1, but then again I don't have to keep track of those hours either.

I view my job as sort of a knighthood (or peasant but knight is cooler). My employer pays me a stipend, I have certian responsibilities that I have to fufil regardless of the time of day or day or week. I get those things done, I think about solutions to my work's problems in the shower, driving the roach or sitting on the pooper all the time but do not ever punch in or out. I like and enjoy my work and do not really consider it a chore. If I had to do something i do not enjoy, I'd switch jobs.

My schedule is flexible. Sometimes I put some hours on the weekends and not on weekdays...

I had to work today but now I'm in Austin, Texas until tomorrow when I go up to Chicago. I can't wait to get weekends off some day.

Just finishing, had a couple of customers come in, did some e-mails, paperwork and replaced the left rear door and rear quarter window of my Audi that were broken during the week by some moron who tried, but was not able to, pull the radio out of the car........

Nothing exciting really.

Been working every other weekend for 32 years now. Shift work no less. 1 year to go. I think I can make it.
