Right- do you have basic comprehension problems?

Yes, he was nicknamed "Barry" when a kid, everyone knows that. Apparently he had a good jump shot, for awhile his nickname was"O'Bomber".

You said he changed his name to "Barack" to get some blackness. Show me a source that says his birth name was Barry and he changed it to Barack, will you? Otherwise, you're making up stuff as you always do.

As far as I've found, he was born "Barack Hussein Obama, Jr", named after his father Barack Hussein Obama, Sr.

Speaking of basic comprehension problems, try re-reading what I posted:

Are you SURE about that? I read that "Barry" was his name (not nickname).

I think that he changed back to Barack to regain some blackness .. ...l:

What part of "back to" don't you understand? Because the way I see it, I'm saying that his given name was Barack but he grew-up as "Barry" ...and changed BACK TO...

Okay - you have comprehension problems, and you have expression problems. You don't understand the concepts of name and nickname, and you can't write clearly enough to express what you think you understand.

A guy is born "James", when he's a kid people nickname him "Jimbo", when he's grown up he prefers to be called his name "James" rather than his nickname. That's the Barack/Barry story.

You think its worthy of some snide post, Barack ?! what the hell kind of name is that?! ...What happened to his former name "Barry"? - whatever, I guess nothing much goes on in that upper left island.

nick·name tr.v. --A familiar or shortened form of a proper name.

James ->Jim

John ->Johny

Robert ->Rob

Samuel -> Sam

Barack->Barry Why that sounds familiar AND shortened.. :rolleyes:

Also, "Barry" stands on it's own as a proper name -- not as nickname. Saying that "Barry is a nickname" is as stupid as "John is a nickname" . . well, unless one is talking about the place to find crap. :cool:

His moniker from basketball days, Barry the Bomber, is not quite fixing his problem I'm thinking.

island911 03-02-2008 12:10 AM

I believe it was Barry O'Bomber. Yeah, that can't help.

I got to think that his bigger problem is in ditching his "white" name to go full Barack Hussein Obama. Geez, his dad ditched him as a baby and Barry decides to honor the guy by using his name. --whacked.

There 10000 reasons not to vote for him.

"I believe it was Barry O'Bomber. Yeah, that can't help"

True, but it is probably better than Hussein O'Bomber.

Maybe his homeboy here will save the day!

A balanced write up:)

"He voted to grant habeas corpus to persons being detained by the US. Apparently John McCain does not recognize the bill of rights as he voted against it."

cashflyer 03-02-2008 09:18 AM

Barry O'Bomber was the name he used to illustrate his Irish background.

fintstone 03-02-2008 10:04 AM

So why exactly is ashamed of his middle name?
