Ever have a dream that you just can't forget?
About 30 years ago as a 10 year old, I had this this dream that I had crashed my car.
As I was being wheeled into a hospital or on a stretcher I asked: "What gear was I in"? I think about this all the time. Is that crazy? ![]() KT

Yes.
I have several. Dozens. They go all the way back to when I was 5. (25 years ago.) All that I remember have one of two themes. Different circumstances, but only two basic themes. I won't go into them, as they would give OT fodder for years and make a psychologist blush. I will say that in one of the themes, I often have the ability to fly. Not like Superman, but I can swim in the air. I usually do the sidestroke.

I have a recurring flying dream too.
There is a fairly strong wind and I am leaning into it with my arms spread and when I lean forward sometimes I catch enough wind to get lift. I don't "launch" every time and when aloft it takes some effort to stay in flying mode and avoiding stalling. These dreams are very realistic and loosely tied to waking physics. Best, Kurt |

I dream in color.
Sometimes I can go back to sleep and resume. I seem to be able to make myself wake up from the funky ones. KT

Spill, or did you wake up before you found out? Is it a recurrent dream?
Do you remember what kind of car it was; what was so striking about the dream that it is sticking in your mind? You blew your engine?

has anyone had a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?

I used to have dreams where I was still in college or grad school, at the end of the semester, and I just found out that I didn't actually drop a class that I thought I dropped. So I was signed up all along, but never went to any of the classes, never read any of the books, etc.
And now it is too late to drop the class. I have to take the final, and have 1 or 2 days to study for it. I had that dream quite a bit when I worked in a high stress environment. Other people there also had that exact same dream! So it sounds pretty common among people that have had a similar experiences. I haven't been in an ultra high stress work environment for many years now, and have not had that dream in many years. When I was a kid I would dream I could fly. I'd be in the breezeway at my elementary school, and if I caught the wind just right, and ran and flapped my arms just right, I could elevate. It wasn't easy, not like soaring like a bird, and I couldn't always do it. |

The Reagan shooting and Mt. St. Helens erupting both sparked dreams i haven't forgotten.
One dream was quite repetitive and involved bigfoot chasing me down a street and me ducking into a tourist shop and browsing for postcards. The thought of bigfoot peering through my window just weighted heavily on me when i was a youngster. Have a variation of the flying thing as well.

I used to get that one so real I'd wake up in a sweat and couldn't tell if it was a dream or real. It was creepy. Most times I don't remember my dreams. Which is just as well, 'cause the ones I do remember are usually even more f*cked up than my reality is.

I have that college one occasionally too. I also have ones where I can't walk--my legs just don't work hardly at all. I'll need to get somewhere--no luck.
