Anyone defending this guy, whether the dog is real or fake, has issues. The intent is to make you think a soldier threw a live puppy to it death, or serious injury. I'd say that soldier is doing a great job vilifying the armed forces, not those of us who are disgusted by that behaviour.

the 03-03-2008 07:25 PM

I agree, either way, it was a totally stupid thing to do, and does a disservice to the armed forces. I don't think anyone would say otherwise.

I just wouldn't jump to the conclusion that it is real. I hope it isn't. I do see a distinction, however, between tossing a dead puppy into a ravine and tossing a live puppy into a ravine. The first would be just a really stupid, moronic, idiotic attempt at a prank. The second could only be done by a truly sadistic, warped person.

ZOA NOM 03-03-2008 07:31 PM

No way I would defend the guy. Absolutely juvenile, and sadistic, no question. But it's only a prank, designed to elicit exactly the response it has. I'm disappointed in the folks who seem to want it to be real, to justify their own hatred for the US military.

thank you to the people defending david. i cannot believe the reactions people are getting from this when there are other innocent people dying also. people believe in abortion but yet they cant kill a dog? this world is so messed up. people are more concerned about a dogs life than a human being? im not saying that what occured here is right but i dont know the conditions of the situation neither do the rest of you. for all you hateful people who are saying these nasty comments you are no better. if you think that saying these crude things makes you right then i think you need help mentally. david, i love you and whatever happens your family is here for you and we can get through this.

What a sweet Mom, defending her dirtbag sadistic son...

targa911S 03-03-2008 07:42 PM

Nothing beats the love of a mother.

krichard 03-03-2008 07:46 PM

I think we are agreeing on the point that no matter what the video is stupid. I don't think this guys actions are indicitive of the entire armed forces. There are always bad seeds.... This kind of cruelty (no proof if it's real or fake) is particularly evil though and evokes a very strong response from most sane people.

My point is made, I think it's sick either way and truely hope it's fake. If it is real, I hope he pays it.

stomachmonkey 03-03-2008 07:46 PM

Amazing that she is adamant that her son is not capable of something like that.

I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree?? Only possible situation I can say would warrant this is maybe the puppy was crazy like the rabbit in Monty Python's search for the grail??

oh man, that was an aweful thing to see. I wish I hadn't clicked that link.

Maybe you could put a line above the link that says: "Caution: disturbing" or something.... I foolishly clicked on the link without reading the replies and seeing what it was about.

ugh, that is going to be stuck in my head all day.

People do wicked things all the time.

This video is the tiny tip-top of the iceberg.

The question is: 'When will people stop acting wicked'?

After killing, seeing killing and seeing your buddies being killed, I get the sense that these young men ( on all sides ) don't value life much anymore. Especially puppies.

Sad. Very sad time in man's history.

Nope. He's a Marine.

You are a far more understanding and generous man than I am.

I am sickened by the behavior seen around the world today, don't get me wrong.

I believe there is a mental health problem worldwide that is going overlooked.
Experiences ignored and repressed yield actions without conscience. I believe.

Trek,
I believe your wrong.
Been there and done that.
I still don't/didn't throw puppies or folks of a cliff for 'fun'
naw, he just a sick , and down the line when he throw's a 'human'
his breeder can always say..he's really a nice boy.
And his lawyer will claim ..he was traumatized by us..
after all, doesn't everyone throw pups for fun.

trekkor 03-04-2008 09:31 AM

We've all heard of the many horrible acts that young children have done to cats and dogs.

Kids don't 'just do that'.

The abuses carried out, human on human, are too numerous to begin to comprehend.
Society has spiraled down to it's lowest sink.

Hey, but American Idol will be on soon...

I've replayed it several times, and I can't find any details that identify either of the soldiers. It is speculative to say they are Blackwater, US Marines, or any other service. And I still insist the puppy is not real.
