Do You Believe In Life After Death?
And before you start shouting "Isnīt it time this imbecile for'ner with his notoriously boring polls is banned??!!":
A simple checking the box (nothing sexual, I assure you..) will be fully satisfactory. Any elaborating comments are of course more than welcome. Poll guide: Yes: I believe that after I am pronounced clinically dead (not deadish), my 'soul'/body/other entity or the equivalent of the personal me, will in some form, time or level live on. Be that in 'heaven, purgatory, hell, limbo or any other space anyone can imagine. No: I will be no more than I was before I was born.

I believe in life before death. That's why I'm closing this laptop and walking out the door right now to smell the roses/coffee/perfume/you get the picture.

Yep. I do. My recently passed buddy made it clear he's still around - gave some information to someone I know that isn't readily known.
He made made it known with just a random thought...

I'll probably surprise a few folks on this one as I actually believe there may be a chance that we carry on past death in some form.
Not in the biblical sense or that we return as other creatures. I know there is no proof of an afterlife, but there is a transfer of energy from the living body to the environment and in that energy there may be some type of consciousness as I think there may be some type on consciousness in all that is around us. I do admit that I may just be trying to do what religion does regarding death, but doing it in a way more aligned with my belief in science. I also admit that I am probably "full of it" with these thoughts, but I do consider it quite often. Maybe it's that "god gene" fighting my logical brain? ![]() Best, Kurt |

Physics may prove life after death. You all know about 3 dimensions Time being the 4th. Physicists believe more than 4 dimensions exist. Who is to say that Humans don't exist in more than 4 dimensions. That we are only aware of the 4 because our physical senses are limited to that many dimensions. Perhaps our connection to other dimensions is through our imaginations, subconscience? Just posing a thought here.
I do believe in something after we are here. I have been up close and personal with death before.

bog standard basic Buddhism looks at it in a similar fashion as you just described, energy lives on, but there is no real "self" that recycles in another form...the ego does not migrate to something new don't be confused about reincarnating into lower life forms or whatever(that's more a Hindu thing), or even the Tibetan Buddhism that has reincarnations of Lama's over the years The core of Buddhism, basically covers "life" and living it in a good way 4 truths Dukkha (life is suffering) Samudaya ( suffering comes from craving things) Nirodha (give up things you crave, and suffering goes away) Marga (8 fold path to accomplish Nirodha) there are many forms of Buddhism, some do have ideas of an afterlife, but it's not a requirement for Buddhism the only requirement, is acceptance of the 4 truths and following the 8 fold path As far as i can tell, afterlife, reincarnation, heaven and hell, in Buddhisme are in fact results of the way Buddhism has assimilated with other ancient beliefs... none of it is part of the 4 truths or the 8 fold path, so i consider it superstitious, something else... but as long as it doesn't conflict the 4&8, no problem it's all good to those who dig it... maybe somebody else with more actual in depth knowledge could comment..

I'd change my lifestyle a bit if I didn't think there was.

Our existence after death is most likely exactly what our existence was pre-life.

I there a difference between what becomes of a tree, a spider, a bird, a rabbit, a dog or a man after they have died?
