Upper Abdominal Pain

Really bad. Kinda coming and going. Feel like if I fart it'll be better but can't.

Not sure if it was the sloppy joes for dinner or what.

I know nothing about GI stuff, sorry.

Usually I feel better if I move around if having any GI discomfort after eating too much crap.

If you take Pepto Bismol and go to the hospital tell them so, or they are liable to get a false positive when they stick their finger up your ass and think you have a GI bleed.

Okay not totally nothing

Ouch! I hope she doesn't sneak on and read your posts!

I'm thinking you'll experience the "other end" tomorrow...

I had 3-4 episodes of pretty severe abdominal pain. Pain that would just bring me to my knees and I could find no position that would make it subside. It was located in the upper left if I recall. It would go away in anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Finally, had one that just wouldn't go away. Drove myself to the ER that night and had my gallbladder removed the next morning. I hope that's not what you've got going. Good luck.

She may be trying to slowly poison you with a slow-acting, undetectable poison that builds up in your upper digestive system.

Check to see if she has taken out any new life insurance policies on you recently. Has she been talking more about the "nice new guy" at work?

Just sayin' . . .

If you miss your period, you'll know.

edit: Seriously, I hope it's nothing major.

Best,

Kurt

As stated above, might be that the fuse on your gall bladder has been lit...upper abdominal pain (especially right upper quadrant) after a meal high in fat. Much better to get checked out electively (vs emergently). good luck!

Can you provide a more elaborate description. Previous problems of this kind? How long now? Changing character? Location? Other symptoms?

I had some discomfort on my right side once, just under my last rib...went to doc and he thought it was too high for appendix, and thought it might be gall bladder...told him i was going on a business trip to Germany in a week and need to be sure. I was leaving that Sunday, so he scheduled me for an ultrasound on Friday...Friday came, my side was feeling fine, and the ultrasound showed no gall bladder issues....since i was feeling fine, got on a plane and went to Germany on Sunday...on the following Thursday in Germany, started feeling really bad, right side hurting badly this time...I was scheduled for a 6am flight on Friday to come home, son's 2yr birthday party on Saturday. I toughed it out on Thursday, got on a plane Friday....felt a bit better on the ride over, but when i got to Chicago for my connection, it hit again, really started feeling wierd. A friend with me called my wife, she met me at the airport and took me to the emergency room where i find out I have a perferated appendix that is so infected, they couldn't operate ...stayed in the hospital over the weekend (missed my sons party), had my appendix out in 2 weeks. I could have had a serious issue on that plane if it would have ruptured completely. BTW, i called that doc up and told him he royally mis-diagnosed me, and haven't been back to him.

Moral to the story, don't let things go long.

Still here. Feeling better.

Thanks for the concern.

Reminds me it is time for a physical.

gunlover, my 15 year old sister in law just went through that. She'd been having intermittent aches in her lower stomach for days, but nothing more. Had a really bad one last weekend that would not go away. Got her parents up in the middle of the night to go to the ER. They thought she was just being dramatic, they knew they were wasting their night's sleep for a stomach ache. I believe her words were, "you're going to feel really bad if it's serious". So of course, they took her. Doctor almost sent her home with "mid-cycle cramps", but then decided to do a cat-scan. She was in surgery by morning for a seriously enlarged appendix.
