"War is hell, but failure is not an option"

I didn't read all of this, but it sounded like the culprit is gone. I've been close to calling it quits as well so now I don't post near as much. Stay away from political threads and religion and post your experience and bend a little and this place is fine. Don't sweat the small (troll) stuff...

I'm dead to me too. :o You think that was an easy decision? It's sort of like the quit smoking thing. It still gnaws on you and you wonder if you did the "right" thing. YOU try paying the insurance on a car that you want to insure for a quarter mill that you don't drive. Try selling that to your wife.

Thanks for the pep talk guys and I am happy to hear that WI will no longer be here to stir up his brand of crap. FWIW, I never EVER have whined to a mod behind the scenes about anything anyone has posted here. I often disagree with some here regularly, but I like to think that I have at least a bit of respect deep down for most....WI....not so much.

The pointless bickering that I engaged in with WI made me come to the realization that I needed to make a change in my daily routine and re-examine my use of time.

A couple of days ago, I came to realize that there are two issues that are probably good reasons to take a bit of break from this place.

1) In the last two years, I have been spending less and less of my free time on projects/hobbies and more and more time on the INTERNET.

2) It is one thing to spend my time mentioned above doing something I enjoy (engaging with the majority of you in discussions here), but in my recent dealings with the cheesehead, the well deserved (IMO) nasty tone I was aiming at him, was spilling over and I was starting to use it against others here. I can live with myself occasionally having a heated discussion with Kach or Supe, but in the end I usually don't find myself staying angry with them and ultimately in the end I can be OK with agreeing to disagree......Not so with WI, which is why I needed to go....Life is too short to suffer fools. (especially if it cuts too deeply into hobby time)

So, with all that said, even though my #2 issue above has gone away, I think I will still try to cut my time down here and elsewhere on the INTERNET and get back into a groove of spending the "majority" of my evenings and weekends building, fixing and restoring stuff. (I have an old Honda Interceptor 500 in desperate need of major engine surgery prior to warm weather ;))

Quitting smoking was easy, my wife kicked my ass everytime she caught me.:D So what your saying is, your monthly insurance premium on the Aston was about what I spend on my Saab, right? Considering that I don't even have a Porsche, or any toys for that matter, I don't think the wife would approve.

Welcome back Tim, time for a group hug. I'm pretty certain that if we all quit OT and dedicated our time to work, there would be a noticable jump in America's GDP. But hell, what fun would that be?

Same here, I've wasted too much time and life is short.

Guilty as charged and I've got the post count to prove it. It's a badge of slack.
