Living on the edge
And yes, I know he's dead, but it wasn't from free soloing.

He must have had an incredible power to weight ratio. I got dizzy watching that video.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

The guy died doing that? Without a lifeline, gee, I would never have seen that as a possible outcome...

I used to do a bit of free climbing, but never at those heights. Scary, but so much fun! I stopped while in college. I tried a rock wall at a farmer's market a couple of years ago, one of those fiberglass jobs that have four difficulty levels. I chose the hardest. I almost made it to the top, but my forearms were burning and I just could not hit the buzzer. I had to let go and let the safety rope take me down.

I was a good budy of a climber "backin the day" in Colorado >Boulder, CO.. [Robert Candeleria] He took me on some easy climbs..
Don't think I've ever been as terrified as I was on thos eeasy climbs..... > they were really just rocks.... I have 1000+ skydives.../ 6 malfunctions.. been in three wars..... crashed motorcycles.... My ultimate respect is for someone who can climb..... it's just like naked fear tome....

It really is all or nothing when free climbing, one mistake and it’s adios.
The closest I ever came to the edge was skipping the Blue Boy and going for the Matador at my fav mex restaurant ![]()
