Other Favorite Cars

Hi! I'm Go Dawg Go's Son Bobby. I'm 13, and I was wondering what your top 5 favorite cars were besides your Porsche. Also you can list other Porsche models other than 911s like a 03' Carrera GT

My favorites besides my dad's 87' 930

1. 97' Mclaren F1 LM

2. 87' Lambo Countach

3. 04' Viper Comp Coupe

4. 74' Porsche 935

5. 67' Shelby Cobra

I helped my dad's friend Andy install some triple throat PMOs carbs on his 75' 911s silver anniversary

check this out, very cool

Hi Bobby, congratulations, working on a 911 at 13 is a great place to start, wish I could have at your age! Nothing better looking then a nice set of carbs, is there?

I like your list of cars, mine (and it changes everyday), would probably include...

1. Ferrari 250 GT SWB

2. Bugatti T37

3. Nissan GTR

4. Porsche 911 R

5. Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Keep at it with the cars, you can learn a lot working on any car, make sure you get to a variety of events (races, car club meets, car shows, etc.) and have fun. You'll have your own sports car in no time.

A most EXCELLENT list Bobby! Any one of those would be welcome in my garage! For my list (besides Porsche 911's...):

1. E-type Jaguar Coupe, two seat only

2. Gullwing Mercedes

3. AAR 'Cuda

4. 63 Corvette Split Window Coupe

5. Our spyder (sorry, I know it's mine but it really is my favorite).

Thank you,

My dad said I should rebuild VWs first before I get to Porsches. My dad and I went to Irwindale drag strip and saw VW bugs race each other. I saw a bug beat a corvette one time. what do you think of this bug without the roof rack.

I love porsches but I ilke mopars too

My dad likes 426 rat motors

My dad's 930 smokes a little when he starts it ,but watch this Lambo.
Porsches aren't the only cars that smoke.

Hi Bobby, that is a neat looking "bug" I guess you could tell that I too am a MOPAR person. Tell your Dad, that the 426 HEMI was know as the "ELEPHANT" motor, certain Chevy's were sometimes referred to having a "RAT" motor. I believe that you are off to a great start, with you interest in automobiles. You need to keep posting when you can, so we all can just keep up with what is going on with the cars. Talk to ya later, Tony.

What should be Bobby's first car?

What would you folks suggest for Bobby's first car? I think a VW Bug. IMHO. I think they are great and inexpensive. My first car was a 1966 VW bug I bought fo $200. I liked it and wished I still had it.

Thanks guys and gals,

I had Little Bob create this post because he enjoys watching me read and comment on the tech issues and politics on Pelican. I appreciate you folks being kind to him. He really is a great boy who is always kind and helpful. I have had the pleasure of buying a 930 and sorting it out with him helping. He has learned a tremendous amount of various information about cars and is anxious about buying his first car which he thinks will be a 911. I have encouraged the VW bug thing because of the cost of parts and the simple engineering and maintenance.

I guess I will list my favorite cars:

1. MY 87 930 Turbo

2. 1978-90 SC style 911 maybe a cabriolet

3. Dodge Vipers (early)

4. 1970 Dodge Challenger or Barracuda 318 ci would be acceptable but would rather have a 426 wedge.

5. Most Ferraris

Then the real Cream Puff.......(Drum Roll)...P-51 Mustang.......Too cool.

What do you folks think Bobby's first car should be...(Within Reason)

Big Bob

I recommend the Bug.

My cars. Some are a bit odd.

928. I just like the Shark.
Kharmin Ghia.
72 Mustang Mach1.
Morgan 3 wheelers. I think one rebuilt with a BIG twin would be assloads of fun.
Crown Vic's 98- up. I like riding them in the front seat. I think with some suspension work, and a Cobra's plant, it could be hilarious.

The standard was set by the 1965 Ferarri 250 GT SWB (Short Wheel Base), the ultimate "run what you brung" All othere cars have tried to duplicate it or used it as inspiration (especially the Corvette).

I just wish I could have one in MY garage (I do have it as a picture in my office).
