PUG - who owns one?
We got a Pug about 5 weeks ago - strange, cool, smart, hard to 'read' - all that stuff.
Who else has one? Rose: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1207102320.jpg |
holy crap that is cute. a pug was my first dog. i was a dorky kid, and a pug probably shouldnt have been my first dog. we had to give the thing daily eye drops. take great care of that little guy!
you named it rose? |
Stepped on one once, makes a bit of a mess.
Have never owned one but there was one in our training class, Lola, she was a trip. I'd consider one, they are pretty cool. |
We had one when I was a kid, take care of the eyes:)

Cool looking dog. :)

I've got one. They have a tendency to be hyper for the first 2-3 years, then they mellow out. As yours grows, make sure to have the vet check his ability to breathe through his nose. It's common to have to have a nose job done to open up the airways. We had to have this done with ours. They are loyal and will pick one person to bond with. Great dogs.

I've always thought they were cute. I'd consider having one.

You don't own dogs or cats...they own you.

I have a pug and a puggle (pug/beagle mix)
I have always been a big dog person until my wife talked me into a pug. They are extremely affectionate but pick up anything and everything that is on the floor or the ground. The puggle is easier but still demands alot of attention.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1207104628.jpg

We have had pugs for over 20 years and were heavily involved with San Diego pug rescue for 4 or 5 of those. We learned several things: they snort and snore, they have very sensitive skin, they don't respond well to human food as it bothers their skin and they can have rear hip joint issues when they get old. Our oldest one finally died when he was 19 years and 4 months so they are pretty hardy.

God, dogs are the best. Your pup is cute. I can see her thinking "Treats?!"
|
My neighbor down the street has two (siblings). Great little dogs. It's my problem, I admit it, but cute as they are, when I play with them and they get all excited and hyper, I always get a faint queasy feeling thinking about their eyes popping out.

Sorry but if its not up to your knees, its a football. Last pup was a Malamute... and it was a dog not a football.

We have two. I've never owned dogs as a kid and my wife talked me in to the first one eight years ago. Our male was a bit hyper at first but a strong solid dog. For some reason he doesn't bark. We picked up a black female about a year later and the male really calmed down. We heard they are better in pairs. They are lap dogs and love to be held. They will follow you thru the house, greet you at the door, jump up on the sofa and take nap with you.
We love them. |
I never heard my pug bark either...

Our black one barks her head off. Maybe it's because she's a ....

I didn't know pugs came in black (all I've ever seen were tan) ... I learn something new everyday here :)

Pugs are great! We own one and my daughter has two. They are known as velcro dogs, because they practically stick to you wherever you go. They're great companion dogs.
We call Baxter the "ambassodor of dogs". He's so non-threatening that no other dog even tries to dominate him. He makes friends with other dogs immediately. |

Yup, they come in black. My daughter took this photo and it's a little off center, but he's a black one. His paws are white and it was the selling point to her when he was puppy. Loyal, affectionate, he barks only at noises at the door like a watchdog, snores, eats anything you give him. Great dog. |
