Nice improvement to that kitchen. :)
|
Lots of work there! Nice overall.
One minor thing though - why on earth did you go with white as a color for the cabinets? WAY too much white, IMHO (natural wood would have looked very nice, especially next to that natural-looking stone tile, but just my opinion). But a vast improvement overall. Nice job! |
The purpose of this project was to create an overall appeal in today's poor real estate market.
The previous kitchen needed *everything*. This kitchen needs a refridgerator. The house is in escrow now. If it were my home, I agree, maybe too much white. KT |
Looked at a newer house recently Jeff? Everything is WHITE. As a former remodeler and cabinet builder, it makes me sick. There's few things more attractive than stained hardwood in a home. I can't imagine why people like it, but they do. Sounds like that was KT's top priority, and I think he was right.
I'm on a white elimination mission in my house. It currently has white raised panel doors, and white woodwork in the master bedroom. That will all be eliminated and replaced with wood. I've installed a few raised panel oak doors, the difference is night and day. |
No brass pole?

The cool thing about Ikea, is that you can buy door whenever you please.
They have about thirty styles to choose from. I'd install them again. So if someone really needed to have less white, for about $1,000 they could have solid wood doors with various integrated glass options if they wanted. The key to remodeling with the intent to sell, is being able to appeal to 80-90% of the buyers. Sometimes you have to leave your personal preferences in the truck ;) Many people appreciate simple and bland homes. No amazing colors. It allows TOTAL freedom to decorate and re-decorate with all of their own colorful accessories. KT |

I've already got a replacement 2.7 motor in my shed.
As soon as I get all my new gaskets and get the oil system components cleaned, I'm back!! maybe 3-4 weeks... KT |
KItchen looks great but really highlights how bad the hardwoods are...

Good eye! The floors had been covered with shag carpet for 30-40 years. They need re-finishing. The new owners will need to make that call. Also, the entire house interior, except for the kitchen is in tinted 'Cover Stain' primer. Ready for whatever color they want. KT |
:)The older kitchen was a classic!
But it looks very nice now. Good job. |
