Yeah, the meathead with his kid out there deserves far more than a shellacking. What the hell is he thinking? Man... in the blink of an eye... yikes...

Maybe the kid asked "Where'd mom go?"

onewhippedpuppy 04-04-2008 06:27 AM

Ummmm, no. I like life. Whoever takes their kids there should be pushed over the edge (sans kids).

Let's organize a PPOT International Meet. We'll go to the Devil's Swimming Pool first and then well go walk that path in Spain.

While I've always been strongly disinclined to approach the edge of anything taller than I am and won't try SCUBA diving because of my fear of depths, the photos may be of a totally placid little shallow five feet off the river bank and not all that dangerous. But I still react like Doug's cat when I look at the pictures.

When I broke my leg snowboarding, we had a mantra - "Taste Death - Live Life!" Often, the closer you are to death, the more you can feel alive. That may have something to do with the fact that I drive my Porsche on the racetrack.

That said, I believe there is a HUGE difference between this type of attitude vs. those who have a death wish.

Would I take a lap in the Devli's Swimming pool? I dunno - maybe. I do have a fear of heights, and in high school, my best friend died in a drowning accident... But it does look like a thrilling experience. First, I'll jump out of an airplane, and maybe drive the death road in South America...

I was there in late '99 and bungied off the Zambesi bridge just upstream a bit... that was a rush. Saw Devil's pool from the other side of the falls, very neat place indeed.

onewhippedpuppy 04-04-2008 08:41 AM

Z, I feel plenty alive, thanks.:D

When time/money allows, I hope to race and get a pilot's license, so I'm not a total sissy. But I figure, why tempt fate?

TheMentat 04-04-2008 08:43 AM

funny... A buddy of mine just sent me a picture of himself over there!

M.D. Holloway 04-04-2008 09:00 AM

Well first I would need to be in Zimbabwe which is not gonna happen but I do enjoy the pictures.

It's all fun and games till somebody craps their pants.

richde 04-04-2008 09:14 AM

I'm sure it's not as scary in person.

Should we start building that railing around the Grand Canyon too?

Crossing into Zimbabwe from Botswana, there were wart hogs rooting through trash bins at the border... a strange thing to see.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1207331363.jpg
