Porsche working on a Porsche-Golf for 2012?

Porsche working on a Porsche-Golf for 2012?

The picture above is on the cover of the new AutoBild magazine. The caption next to it read (in German) ”kompakte geheim-projekte bis 2012. der porsche-golf.” That translates to “compact secret projects until 2012. the Porsche-Golf.”
Yes or no?

Go or no-go?

I would say very doubtful. If anything, Porsche engineering going into a special edition VW Golf. Porsche owns a majority stake in VW now, so I expect to see more collaboration there. The old Porsche engineered Audi RS2 was pretty sweet, we need more of those.

Another attempt to cheapen and dumb down the name. I wish they'd keep all of their "mass-appeal" cars in the VW line and refrain from the further bastardization of the name Porsche. Maybe just performance-oriented cars?

...I guess I can keep dreaming, eh?

Slightly different projection, still not badge worthy though.
