Random things overheard in Walmart

Last time I went.

Geezus, if someone actually said that to their kids out here (responsible parenting) they'd probably be arrested by 50 cops in riot gear and the kids would end up in foster care, probably in gangs within 12 months.

Last time I went to Wal-Mart I could only understand the employees at the cash register. No lie. I swear I was the only native English-speaker in there.

Hey! hey! I go to friggin Walmart EVERY Tuesday night. Why? Besides being mentally ill? I drive 30 miles out to visit my 83 year old mother and she no longer drives (finally). My sisters take turns taking her to doctors aappointments, the pharmacy, etc. She buys certain things certain places and no oamount of talking nor offers to buy things FOR her will convince her it is easier to buy everything (well, most things) all in one place. She wants to go to Walmart everytime I see her. She wants to go to the same place for dinner EVERY time I see her.

The only thing easy about going with her is we get to use her handicapped parking placard so we can park close. Otherwise? Its a TOTAL PITA.

Mire a ese gringo estúpido. Él es muy feo. Mire el tamaño de su cabeza.

Standing in line years ago with my daughter who was three or four at the time. The cashier was a very large woman with lots of facial hair. My daughter yells to me "Hey daddy, look at the fat lady with the beard". Everyone in line looks at me. I felt terrible for the cashier, but it was really funny.

My oldest son works at Wal-mart while finishing up college. He tells me all kinds of crazy crap that people do and say. Sorry I am coming up blank at the moment.

Paul you look in the mirror lately? Fat jokes hurt.

"Quit wrastlin' with your sister!'"

Honestly, I've had exactly the same low-class experiences at just about every Wal-Mart I've been to as you guys mention. But around here there are two Wal-Mart SuperCenters, equidistant from my house in opposite directions and every time I go to either of them, it's actually kind of pleasant. They're almost always nearly empty, I've heard nothing but native English all around me and even the kid working the ammo counter had some gun smarts. I know this is not the norm for Wal-Mart, but it's true around here - Anthem and Happy Valley locations. Two weeks ago I rode the bike to one and met a guy on an awesome 1150GS sitting out front, waiting for his wife to get done. They take the bike on shopping trips. Turns out he knew me from ADVrider.com. We chatted about 30 min. I swear, I really like going to Wal-Mart now.

Overheard a guy looking at cheap paintball guns: "Masks are for pu$$ie$."

***

We have two Wal Marts in town. One is about 5 years old, the other is maybe 15-20 years old.

In the 12 years I have lived here, they have remodeled the older Wal Mart 3 times--once every six years.

I don't understand anything said at Walmart, I can't speak Spanish.
