well..so i am gonna do a write in campaign for town council

seems that people just are not interested in being involved anymore here in NJ. We have 3 available seats and only 2 people registered...So the third is up for grabs in a most write in's wins election...(you need to get a minimum of 25 to be eligible in my town) So I figure now is the time to get involved.
anyone here involved in town Gov? how is the best way to get the word out?

in nj, if you get elected to any position you get FULL benefits and a salary ...which i do not intend to accept btw..and i want to donate the salary to charity. (animal shelter)
any good suggestions would help me as the election is in June

Print a short, concise, position paper laying out your goals, changes needed etc.

Hand them out door to door, face to face, press the flesh.

Small, eye catching yard signs (name recognition)

Luckily, we have a nice little town, taxes are ok, great schools and well policed (not overly either) there are some minor things i'd like to do, but really i'd prefer it stay the same..but grow smartly as it is currently.
my plans are :
capitalize the fact that I grew up here and know alot of people
get signs, 100 signs to be placed at intersections and high traffic areas
fliers...my sister does not work, she can go give out fliers at the supermarkets
maybe some door to door (not all that sure)

Why get involved, just come here and bytch online about how Gov. is fuched up. Maybe it will evolve (better itself) on it's own? Hope for Change?
