Giggling is not the only way you resemble a schoolgirl, Shaun.

For those of you that still doubt that this was all about religion, how about words directly out of the mouth of the founder of the Discovery Institute and the ID controversy in general, Phillip Johnson:

"Our strategy has been to change the subject a bit so that we can get the issue of intelligent design, which really means the reality of God, before the academic world and into the schools." Phillip E. Johnson http://www.christianity.ca/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=2830&srcid=1862

"This isn't really, and never has been a debate about science. It's about religion and philosophy." Phillip E. Johnson http://www.leaderu.com/pjohnson/world2.html

"Phillip Johnson's strategy stretches like a would-be eclipse over most of the differences. "We can't afford to be shooting incessantly at each other over old-earth and young-earth disagreements," he says wherever he goes among evangelical Christians. "The real enemy is naturalistic, impersonal Darwinism that deliberately and consciously seeks to set God on the sideline of our culture." Mr. Johnson suggests there will be time enough for settling the details of creation once Darwinism has been denied its century-old dominance." http://www.leaderu.com/pjohnson/world2.html

"If we understand our own times, we will know that we should affirm the reality of God by challenging the domination of materialism and naturalism in the world of the mind. With the assistance of many friends I have developed a strategy for doing this....We call our strategy the 'wedge.' " Defeating Darwinism by Opening Minds. Phillip E. Johnson. 1997. pp. 91-92

"The objective (of the Wedge strategy) is to convince people that Darwinism is inherently atheistic, thus shifting the debate from creationism vs. evolution to the existence of God vs. the non-existence of God. From there people are introduced to 'the truth' of the Bible and then 'the question of sin' and finally 'introduced to Jesus.' " Phillip E. Johnson Quoted in Church and State Magazine, April 1999

"So the question is: “How to win?” That’s when I began to develop what you now see full-fledged in the “wedge” strategy: “Stick with the most important thing”—the mechanism and the building up of information. Get the Bible and the Book of Genesis out of the debate because you do not want to raise the so-called Bible-science dichotomy. Phrase the argument in such a way that you can get it heard in the secular academy and in a way that tends to unify the religious dissenters. That means concentrating on, “Do you need a Creator to do the creating, or can nature do it on its own?” and refusing to get sidetracked onto other issues, which people are always trying to do. They’ll ask, “What do you think of Noah’s flood?” or something like that. Never bite on such questions because they’ll lead you into a trackless wasteland and you’ll never get out of it. Phillip E. Johnson http://touchstonemag.com/archives/article.php?id=15-05-037-i

"But aside from that, I would now say that the project of developing a central position, which could unify the Christian world on this issue, has been accomplished. We’re on the verge of success in the project of legitimating this issue in the secular academic realm. I don’t know exactly when to say we’ve been successful. Maybe when we get a serious article about us in Time or the New York Times. We’re still on the margins. Phillip E. Johnson http://touchstonemag.com/archives/article.php?id=15-05-037-i

What is it with religious folk and their weird sexual imaginations? is Ted Haggard your pastor or is this a Catholic priest thing?

And Snowman and his relentless homosexual comments!! :D

Steve - great stuff with the Phillip Johnson quotes. If Ben Stein really wanted to make a movie to expose a conspiracy, he should have focused on the ID movement itself and not the science communities' disdain for it.

The big problem is the supposed 'evidence'.
There is none that leads to hard and fast undisputable claims...Is there?

If there is, no one seems willing to post that.
We get the theories, guesses, etc., instead. I wonder why that is?
Insults aren't evidence, folks. I know, it's what you've been taught. Sorry.

So much for those 'mountains of evidence', huh?
KT

And with that, hundreds of years of biology, chemistry, astronomy, geopyshics, geography, et al- just swept away. But I will bet the poster and his ilk enjoy the 659"plasma TV and cell phones and interwebs.

Trekkor beleives that tigers will become vegetarians when the earth is made into paradise for him and his bretheren to live on forever, while 144,000 other live in heaven with Jesus. He believes he will earn his salvation through his works (witnessing), not by salavation by the blood of Jesus who died for our sins amen.

Thats all quite credible in Trekkor's mind. Science apparently, with all its theories and what not, simply isnt.

Trekkor's well documented willful ignorance disqulaifies him from any ability to comment on the validity of science. What we can however learn from his posts is the hold that cults can have on people who are among us, and the intellectual debilitation these organisations inflict on the gullible.

Shaun it has becomes obvious to me that the adage about wrestling with pigs applies to any discussion with you. Thus, since I have become dirty enough already, I am choosing to withdraw from any further discourse with you on this or any other topic.

Have a nice day and remember, God still loves you.

Here's an example:
When I say the days of Genesis are 24 hours in length, I back up that assertion with the original Hebrew text proving my supposition.

Please do the same when saying that the 7th day has not ended.

Each of the first six days have a recording of their definite end.

The seventh does not. It's called God's day of rest.

Hebrews 4:1-10 indicates it had not ended into the first century.

I suspect that everyone here does not think i'm a 'wanker'. I further suspect that i've proven nothing here other than the fact that your punk Australian ass can dish (unimaginative and petty) insults out, but you can't take them, even when they're specifically framed as stereotypes.

How you like that mate?

Now run quick, i think there's a dingo coming...

Keep proving me right. I thought you were as religious as a doorknob so what I say about priests and young boys and being hypocrites shouldn't bother you at all. Maybe your one of those homo, commie un-american boy lovers snowman's always going on about.

m21sniper 05-07-2008 09:14 PM

It 'bothers me' because you sound like an ignorant, mean spirited jerk off who is deliberately going out of his way to insult people.

You could be talking about any topic, and the attitude you've displayed here would still convince me you're a jackass.

That clear it up for you any?
