Do you hate school teachers too? Some of them are molesters in positions of authority. Do they all share your ill-directed ire like religious people do?

Perhaps you aren't up to speed on the multiple incidences of teachers having sex with their underage students in this country (maybe you were on walkabout in the bush)...all the teachers got off with a slap on the wrist, and I believe that multiple people on this very forum talked about how they didn't really have an issue with it since the teacher involved was female...

Seems that there is a trend in the radical evolutionists on the thread...actually I've noticed the same trend on all the religion bashing threads. Why is it that the religious folks, in general try to be civil in their discourse while the anti-religious folks immediately start throwing out insults?

I'm pretty sure he cares what i think, or he'd have never responded to my posts to begin with. Then again, he does so in such a rude fashion, that maybe he really doesn't. Who knows. (or more appropriately perhaps, who cares?)

It's happened here to and the teachers lost their jobs and were struck off the education departments register, as they should be. Like I said, this thread isn't about teachers.

Second, no one is defending the Catholic churches actions. You pointed it out and then went on to say that if the same thing happened in any other part of society the person would be out on their ear. Well, that simply isn't true, hence the teacher analogy.

Nationality has nothing to do with this. This sort of child abuse by power brokers of ALL religions is worldwide. I took offence to the fact that rather than say, yes, child abuse by religious leaders is abhorrent, he immediately went on the defence and attacked me. Stereotype me all you want, makes no diff to me. I'm thicker skinned than that. After all, I'm a kangaroo humpin' Aussie. :)

Hey attack me all you want, at the end of the day what I said is right. I've posted several links you can read and there are literally hundreds more. Churches know about it and they sweep it under the carpet. The congregation knows about but prefers the leadership to deal with it the way they see fit, there-by absolving them from any responsibility. Hypocrisy at work.

Look wolf, no one is saying that there isn't a problem with some clergy with regards to child abuse. No one is excusing that either. You cannot, however, say that ALL religious clergy are child molesters and that every religious person condones child abuse. Yes, there are instances of child abuse by religious people. There are instances of child abuse by non-religious people too. Australia's child abuse website lists thousands of cases of child abuse each year. Can I then say that all Australian's a child abusers? Of course not.
